1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת אֶל־יְהֹוָה בַּצָּרָתָה לִּי קָרָאתִי וַֽיַּעֲנֵֽנִיA song of ascents. In my distress I called to GOD— who answered me.

2יְֽהֹוָה הַצִּילָה נַפְשִׁי מִשְּׂפַת־שֶׁקֶר מִלָּשׁוֹן רְמִיָּֽהO ETERNAL One, save me from treacherous lips, from a deceitful tongue!

3מַה־יִּתֵּן לְךָ וּמַה־יֹּסִיף לָךְ לָשׁוֹן רְמִיָּֽהWhat can you profit, what can you gain, O deceitful tongue?

4חִצֵּי גִבּוֹר שְׁנוּנִים עִם גַּחֲלֵי רְתָמִֽיםA warrior’s sharp arrows, with hot coals of broom-wood.

5אֽוֹיָה־לִי כִּי־גַרְתִּי מֶשֶׁךְ שָׁכַנְתִּי עִֽם־אׇהֳלֵי קֵדָֽרWoe is me, that I live with Meshech, that I dwell among the clans of Kedar.

6רַבַּת שָֽׁכְנָה־לָּהּ נַפְשִׁי עִם שׂוֹנֵא שָׁלֽוֹםToo long have I dwelt with those who hate peace.

7אֲֽנִי־שָׁלוֹם וְכִי אֲדַבֵּר הֵמָּה לַמִּלְחָמָֽהI am all peace; but when I speak, they are for war.

1שִׁיר לַֽמַּעֲלוֹת אֶשָּׂא עֵינַי אֶל־הֶהָרִים מֵאַיִן יָבֹא עֶזְרִֽיA song for ascents. I turn my eyes to the mountains; from where will my help come?

2עֶזְרִי מֵעִם יְהֹוָה עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָֽרֶץMy help comes from GOD, maker of heaven and earth.

3אַל־יִתֵּן לַמּוֹט רַגְלֶךָ אַל־יָנוּם שֹׁמְרֶֽךָ[God] will not let your foot give way; your guardian will not slumber.

4הִנֵּה לֹֽא־יָנוּם וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר יִשְׂרָאֵֽלSee, the guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps!

5יְהֹוָה שֹׁמְרֶךָ יְהֹוָה צִלְּךָ עַל־יַד יְמִינֶֽךָGOD is your guardian, GOD is your protection at your right hand.

6יוֹמָם הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לֹֽא־יַכֶּכָּה וְיָרֵחַ בַּלָּֽיְלָהBy day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.

7יְֽהֹוָה יִשְׁמׇרְךָ מִכׇּל־רָע יִשְׁמֹר אֶת־נַפְשֶֽׁךָGOD will guard you from all harm, and will guard your life.

8יְֽהֹוָה יִשְׁמׇר־צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֶךָ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָֽםGOD will guard your going and coming now and forever.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד שָׂמַחְתִּי בְּאֹמְרִים לִי בֵּית יְהֹוָה נֵלֵֽךְA song of ascents. Of David. I rejoiced when they said to me, “We are going to the House of GOD.”

2עֹמְדוֹת הָיוּ רַגְלֵינוּ בִּשְׁעָרַיִךְ יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִםOur feet stood inside your gates, O Jerusalem,

3יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם הַבְּנוּיָה כְּעִיר שֶׁחֻבְּרָה־לָּהּ יַחְדָּֽוJerusalem built up, a city knit together,

4שֶׁשָּׁם עָלוּ שְׁבָטִים שִׁבְטֵי־יָהּ עֵדוּת לְיִשְׂרָאֵל לְהֹדוֹת לְשֵׁם יְהֹוָֽהto which tribes would make pilgrimage, the tribes of Yah, as was enjoined upon Israel— to praise GOD’s name.

5כִּי שָׁמָּה יָשְׁבוּ כִסְאוֹת לְמִשְׁפָּט כִּסְאוֹת לְבֵית דָּוִֽדThere the thrones of judgment stood, thrones of the house of David.

6שַׁאֲלוּ שְׁלוֹם יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם יִשְׁלָיוּ אֹהֲבָֽיִךְPray for the well-being of Jerusalem; “May those who love you be at peace.

7יְהִי־שָׁלוֹם בְּחֵילֵךְ שַׁלְוָה בְּאַרְמְנוֹתָֽיִךְMay there be well-being within your ramparts, peace in your citadels.”

8לְמַעַן אַחַי וְרֵעָי אֲדַבְּרָה־נָּא שָׁלוֹם בָּֽךְFor the sake of my kin and friends, I pray for your well-being;

9לְמַעַן בֵּית־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֲבַקְשָׁה טוֹב לָֽךְfor the sake of the house of the ETERNAL our God, I seek your good.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת אֵלֶיךָ נָשָׂאתִי אֶת־עֵינַי הַיֹּשְׁבִי בַּשָּׁמָֽיִםA song of ascents. To You, enthroned in heaven, I turn my eyes.

2הִנֵּה כְעֵינֵי עֲבָדִים אֶל־יַד אֲֽדוֹנֵיהֶם כְּעֵינֵי שִׁפְחָה אֶל־יַד גְּבִרְתָּהּ כֵּן עֵינֵינוּ אֶל־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ עַד שֶׁיְּחׇנֵּֽנוּAs the eyes of servants follow their master’s hand, as the eyes of a maid follow the hand of her mistress, so our eyes are toward the ETERNAL our God, awaiting divine favor.

3חׇנֵּנוּ יְהֹוָה חׇנֵּנוּ כִּי־רַב שָׂבַעְנוּ בֽוּזShow us favor, O ETERNAL One, show us favor! We have had more than enough of contempt.

4רַבַּת שָֽׂבְעָה־לָּהּ נַפְשֵׁנוּ הַלַּעַג הַשַּֽׁאֲנַנִּים הַבּוּז (לגאיונים) [לִגְאֵי יוֹנִֽים]Long enough have we endured the scorn of the complacent, the contempt of the haughty.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד לוּלֵי יְהֹוָה שֶׁהָיָה לָנוּ יֹאמַר־נָא יִשְׂרָאֵֽלA song of ascents. Of David. Were it not for GOD, who was on our side, let Israel now declare,

2לוּלֵי יְהֹוָה שֶׁהָיָה לָנוּ בְּקוּם עָלֵינוּ אָדָֽםwere it not for GOD, who was on our side when others assailed us,

3אֲזַי חַיִּים בְּלָעוּנוּ בַּחֲרוֹת אַפָּם בָּֽנוּthey would have swallowed us alive in their burning rage against us;

4אֲזַי הַמַּיִם שְׁטָפוּנוּ נַחְלָה עָבַר עַל־נַפְשֵֽׁנוּthe waters would have carried us off, the torrent would have swept over us;

5אֲזַי עָבַר עַל־נַפְשֵׁנוּ הַמַּיִם הַזֵּידוֹנִֽיםover us would have swept the seething waters.

6בָּרוּךְ יְהֹוָה שֶׁלֹּא נְתָנָנוּ טֶרֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶֽםBlessed is GOD, who did not let us be ripped apart by their teeth.

7נַפְשֵׁנוּ כְּצִפּוֹר נִמְלְטָה מִפַּח יוֹקְשִׁים הַפַּח נִשְׁבָּר וַאֲנַחְנוּ נִמְלָֽטְנוּWe are like a bird escaped from the fowler’s trap; the trap broke and we escaped.

8עֶזְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁם יְהֹוָה עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָֽרֶץOur help is the name of GOD, maker of heaven and earth.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת הַבֹּטְחִים בַּיהֹוָה כְּֽהַר־צִיּוֹן לֹא־יִמּוֹט לְעוֹלָם יֵשֵֽׁבA song of ascents. Those who trust in GOD are like Mount Zion that cannot be moved, enduring forever.

2יְֽרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם הָרִים סָבִיב לָהּ וַיהֹוָה סָבִיב לְעַמּוֹ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָֽםJerusalem, hills enfold it, and GOD enfolds this people now and forever.

3כִּי לֹא יָנוּחַ שֵׁבֶט הָרֶשַׁע עַל גּוֹרַל הַֽצַּדִּיקִים לְמַעַן לֹא־יִשְׁלְחוּ הַצַּדִּיקִים בְּעַוְלָתָה יְדֵיהֶֽםThe scepter of the wicked shall never rest upon the land allotted to the righteous, that the righteous not set their hand to wrongdoing.

4הֵיטִיבָה יְהֹוָה לַטּוֹבִים וְלִישָׁרִים בְּלִבּוֹתָֽםDo good, O ETERNAL One, to the good, to the upright in heart.

5וְהַמַּטִּים עֲֽקַלְקַלּוֹתָם יוֹלִיכֵם יְהֹוָה אֶת־פֹּעֲלֵי הָאָוֶן שָׁלוֹם עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽלBut those who in their crookedness act corruptly, let GOD make them go the way of evildoers. May it be well with Israel!

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת בְּשׁוּב יְהֹוָה אֶת־שִׁיבַת צִיּוֹן הָיִינוּ כְּחֹלְמִֽיםA song of ascents. When GOD restores the fortunes of Zion —we see it as in a dream—

2אָז יִמָּלֵא שְׂחוֹק פִּינוּ וּלְשׁוֹנֵנוּ רִנָּה אָז יֹאמְרוּ בַגּוֹיִם הִגְדִּיל יְהֹוָה לַעֲשׂוֹת עִם־אֵֽלֶּהour mouths shall be filled with laughter, our tongues, with songs of joy. Then shall they say among the nations, “GOD has done great things for them!”

3הִגְדִּיל יְהֹוָה לַעֲשׂוֹת עִמָּנוּ הָיִינוּ שְׂמֵחִֽיםGOD will do great things for us and we shall rejoice.

4שׁוּבָה יְהֹוָה אֶת־[שְׁבִיתֵנוּ] (שבותנו) כַּאֲפִיקִים בַּנֶּֽגֶבRestore our fortunes, O ETERNAL One, like watercourses in the Negeb.

5הַזֹּרְעִים בְּדִמְעָה בְּרִנָּה יִקְצֹֽרוּThey who sow in tears shall reap with songs of joy.

6הָלוֹךְ יֵלֵךְ וּבָכֹה נֹשֵׂא מֶשֶׁךְ־הַזָּרַע בֹּא־יָבֹא בְרִנָּה נֹשֵׂא אֲלֻמֹּתָֽיוOne who goes along weeping, carrying the seed-bag, shall come back with songs of joy, carrying the sheaves.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת לִשְׁלֹמֹה אִם־יְהֹוָה לֹא־יִבְנֶה בַיִת שָׁוְא עָמְלוּ בוֹנָיו בּוֹ אִם־יְהֹוָה לֹא־יִשְׁמׇר־עִיר שָׁוְא שָׁקַד שׁוֹמֵֽרA song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless GOD builds the house, its builders labor in vain on it; unless GOD watches over the city, the guard keeps vigil in vain.

2שָׁוְא לָכֶם מַשְׁכִּימֵֽי קוּם מְאַחֲרֵי־שֶׁבֶת אֹכְלֵי לֶחֶם הָעֲצָבִים כֵּן יִתֵּן לִידִידוֹ שֵׁנָֽאIn vain do you rise early and stay up late, you who toil for the bread you eat; God’s loved ones are provided for while they sleep.

3הִנֵּה נַחֲלַת יְהֹוָה בָּנִים שָׂכָר פְּרִי הַבָּֽטֶןSons are the provision of GOD; the fruit of the womb, divine reward.

4כְּחִצִּים בְּיַד־גִּבּוֹר כֵּן בְּנֵי הַנְּעוּרִֽיםLike arrows in the hand of a warrior are sons born to a man in his youth.

5אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּא אֶת־אַשְׁפָּתוֹ מֵהֶם לֹֽא־יֵבֹשׁוּ כִּֽי־יְדַבְּרוּ אֶת־אוֹיְבִים בַּשָּֽׁעַרHappy is the man who fills his quiver with them; they shall not be put to shame when they contend with the enemy in the gate.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת אַשְׁרֵי כׇּל־יְרֵא יְהֹוָה הַהֹלֵךְ בִּדְרָכָֽיוA song of ascents. Happy is any man who fears GOD, who follows godly ways.

2יְגִיעַ כַּפֶּיךָ כִּי תֹאכֵל אַשְׁרֶיךָ וְטוֹב לָֽךְYou shall enjoy the fruit of your labors; you shall be happy and you shall prosper.

3אֶשְׁתְּךָ כְּגֶפֶן פֹּרִיָּה בְּיַרְכְּתֵי בֵיתֶךָ בָּנֶיךָ כִּשְׁתִלֵי זֵיתִים סָבִיב לְשֻׁלְחָנֶֽךָYour wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children, like olive saplings around your table.

4הִנֵּה כִי־כֵן יְבֹרַךְ גָּבֶר יְרֵא יְהֹוָֽהSo shall all who fear GOD be blessed.

5יְבָרֶכְךָ יְהֹוָה מִצִּיּוֹן וּרְאֵה בְּטוּב יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּֽיךָMay GOD bless you from Zion; may you share the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life,

6וּרְאֵֽה־בָנִים לְבָנֶיךָ שָׁלוֹם עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽלand live to see your children’s children. May all be well with Israel!

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת רַבַּת צְרָרוּנִי מִנְּעוּרַי יֹאמַר־נָא יִשְׂרָאֵֽלA song of ascents. Since my youth they have often assailed me, let Israel now declare,

2רַבַּת צְרָרוּנִי מִנְּעוּרָי גַּם לֹא־יָכְלוּ לִֽיsince my youth they have often assailed me, but they have never overcome me.

3עַל־גַּבִּי חָרְשׁוּ חֹרְשִׁים הֶאֱרִיכוּ (למענותם) [לְמַעֲנִיתָֽם]Plowers plowed across my back; they made long furrows.

4יְהֹוָה צַדִּיק קִצֵּץ עֲבוֹת רְשָׁעִֽיםGOD, the righteous one, has snapped the cords of the wicked.

5יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר כֹּל שֹׂנְאֵי צִיּֽוֹןLet all who hate Zion fall back in disgrace.

6יִהְיוּ כַּחֲצִיר גַּגּוֹת שֶׁקַּדְמַת שָׁלַף יָבֵֽשׁLet them be like grass on roofs that fades before it can be pulled up,

7שֶׁלֹּא מִלֵּא כַפּוֹ קוֹצֵר וְחִצְנוֹ מְעַמֵּֽרthat affords no handful for the reaper, no armful for the gatherer of sheaves,

8וְלֹא אָמְרוּ הָעֹבְרִים בִּרְכַּֽת־יְהֹוָה אֲלֵיכֶם בֵּרַכְנוּ אֶתְכֶם בְּשֵׁם יְהֹוָֽהno exchange with passersby: “GOD’s blessing be upon you.” “We bless you by GOD’s name.”

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת מִמַּעֲמַקִּים קְרָאתִיךָ יְהֹוָֽהA song of ascents. Out of the depths I call You, O ETERNAL One.

2אֲדֹנָי שִׁמְעָה בְקוֹלִי תִּהְיֶינָה אׇזְנֶיךָ קַשֻּׁבוֹת לְקוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָֽיO my Sovereign, listen to my cry; let Your ears be attentive to my plea for mercy.

3אִם־עֲוֺנוֹת תִּשְׁמׇר־יָהּ אֲדֹנָי מִי יַעֲמֹֽדIf You keep account of sins, O Yah, my Sovereign, who will survive?

4כִּֽי־עִמְּךָ הַסְּלִיחָה לְמַעַן תִּוָּרֵֽאYours is the power to forgive so that You may be held in awe.

5קִוִּיתִי יְהֹוָה קִוְּתָה נַפְשִׁי וְֽלִדְבָרוֹ הוֹחָֽלְתִּיI look to GOD; my whole being is looking; I await God’s word.

6נַפְשִׁי לַאדֹנָי מִשֹּׁמְרִים לַבֹּקֶר שֹׁמְרִים לַבֹּֽקֶרI am more eager for my Sovereign than guards for the morning, guards for the morning.

7יַחֵל יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־יְהֹוָה כִּֽי־עִם־יְהֹוָה הַחֶסֶד וְהַרְבֵּה עִמּוֹ פְדֽוּתO Israel, wait for GOD; for with GOD is steadfast love and great power to redeem.

8וְהוּא יִפְדֶּה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל מִכֹּל עֲוֺנֹתָֽיוIt is this One who will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד יְהֹוָה לֹא־גָבַהּ לִבִּי וְלֹא־רָמוּ עֵינַי וְלֹֽא־הִלַּכְתִּי בִּגְדֹלוֹת וּבְנִפְלָאוֹת מִמֶּֽנִּיA song of ascents. Of David. O ETERNAL One, my heart is not proud nor my look haughty; I do not aspire to great things or to what is beyond me;

2אִם־לֹא שִׁוִּיתִי וְדוֹמַמְתִּי נַפְשִׁי כְּגָמֻל עֲלֵי אִמּוֹ כַּגָּמֻל עָלַי נַפְשִֽׁיbut I have taught myself to be contented like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child am I in my mind.

3יַחֵל יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־יְהֹוָה מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָֽםO Israel, wait for GOD now and forever.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת זְכוֹר־יְהֹוָה לְדָוִד אֵת כׇּל־עֻנּוֹתֽוֹA song of ascents. O ETERNAL One, remember in David’s favor his extreme self-denial,

2אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַֽיהֹוָה נָדַר לַאֲבִיר יַעֲקֹֽבhow he swore to GOD, vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob,

3אִם־אָבֹא בְּאֹהֶל בֵּיתִי אִם־אֶעֱלֶה עַל־עֶרֶשׂ יְצוּעָֽי“I will not enter my house, nor will I mount my bed,

4אִם־אֶתֵּן שְׁנַת לְעֵינָי לְֽעַפְעַפַּי תְּנוּמָֽהI will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids

5עַד־אֶמְצָא מָקוֹם לַיהֹוָה מִשְׁכָּנוֹת לַאֲבִיר יַעֲקֹֽבuntil I find a place for GOD, an abode for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

6הִנֵּֽה־שְׁמַעֲנוּהָ בְאֶפְרָתָה מְצָאנוּהָ בִּשְׂדֵי־יָֽעַרWe heard it was in Ephrath; we came upon it in the region of Jaar.

7נָבוֹאָה לְמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָיו נִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה לַהֲדֹם רַגְלָֽיוLet us enter God’s abode, bow at the divine footstool.

8קוּמָה יְהֹוָה לִמְנוּחָתֶךָ אַתָּה וַאֲרוֹן עֻזֶּֽךָAdvance, O ETERNAL One, to Your resting-place, You and Your mighty Ark!

9כֹּהֲנֶיךָ יִלְבְּשׁוּ־צֶדֶק וַחֲסִידֶיךָ יְרַנֵּֽנוּYour priests are clothed in triumph; Your loyal ones sing for joy.

10בַּעֲבוּר דָּוִד עַבְדֶּךָ אַל־תָּשֵׁב פְּנֵי מְשִׁיחֶֽךָFor the sake of Your servant David do not reject Your anointed one.

11נִשְׁבַּֽע־יְהֹוָה לְדָוִד אֱמֶת לֹא־יָשׁוּב מִמֶּנָּה מִפְּרִי בִטְנְךָ אָשִׁית לְכִסֵּא־לָֽךְGOD swore to David a firm oath that will not be renounced, “One of your own issue I will set upon your throne.

12אִֽם־יִשְׁמְרוּ בָנֶיךָ בְּרִיתִי וְעֵדֹתִי זוֹ אֲלַמְּדֵם גַּם־בְּנֵיהֶם עֲדֵי־עַד יֵשְׁבוּ לְכִסֵּא־לָֽךְIf your sons keep My covenant and My decrees that I teach them, then their sons also, to the end of time, shall sit upon your throne.”

13כִּי־בָחַר יְהֹוָה בְּצִיּוֹן אִוָּהּ לְמוֹשָׁב לֽוֹFor GOD has chosen Zion, desiring it for a seat.

14זֹאת־מְנוּחָתִי עֲדֵי־עַד פֹּה־אֵשֵׁב כִּי אִוִּתִֽיהָ“This is my resting-place for all time; here I will dwell, for I desire it.

15צֵידָהּ בָּרֵךְ אֲבָרֵךְ אֶבְיוֹנֶיהָ אַשְׂבִּיעַֽ לָֽחֶםI will amply bless its store of food, give its needy their fill of bread.

16וְֽכֹהֲנֶיהָ אַלְבִּישׁ יֶשַׁע וַחֲסִידֶיהָ רַנֵּן יְרַנֵּֽנוּI will clothe its priests in victory, its loyal ones shall sing for joy.

17שָׁם אַצְמִיחַ קֶרֶן לְדָוִד עָרַכְתִּי נֵר לִמְשִׁיחִֽיThere I will make a horn sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one.

18אוֹיְבָיו אַלְבִּישׁ בֹּשֶׁת וְעָלָיו יָצִיץ נִזְרֽוֹI will clothe his enemies in disgrace, while on him his crown shall sparkle.”

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד הִנֵּה מַה־טּוֹב וּמַה־נָּעִים שֶׁבֶת אַחִים גַּם־יָֽחַדA song of ascents. Of David. How good and how pleasant it is that kindred dwell together.

2כַּשֶּׁמֶן הַטּוֹב עַל־הָרֹאשׁ יֹרֵד עַֽל־הַזָּקָן זְקַֽן־אַהֲרֹן שֶׁיֹּרֵד עַל־פִּי מִדּוֹתָֽיוIt is like fine oil on the head running down onto the beard, the beard of Aaron, that comes down over the collar of his robe;

3כְּטַל־חֶרְמוֹן שֶׁיֹּרֵד עַל־הַרְרֵי צִיּוֹן כִּי שָׁם צִוָּה יְהֹוָה אֶת־הַבְּרָכָה חַיִּים עַד־הָעוֹלָֽםlike the dew of Hermon that falls upon the mountains of Zion. There GOD ordained blessing, everlasting life.

1שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת הִנֵּה בָּרְכוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה כׇּל־עַבְדֵי יְהֹוָה הָעֹמְדִים בְּבֵית־יְהֹוָה בַּלֵּילֽוֹתA song of ascents. Now bless GOD, all you servants of GOD who stand nightly in GOD’s house.

2שְׂאֽוּ־יְדֵכֶם קֹדֶשׁ וּבָרְכוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָֽהLift your hands toward the sanctuary and bless GOD.

3יְבָרֶכְךָ יְהֹוָה מִצִּיּוֹן עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָֽרֶץMay GOD, maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.

1הַלְלוּ־יָהּ הַֽלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁם יְהֹוָה הַֽלְלוּ עַבְדֵי יְהֹוָֽהHallelujah. Praise the name of GOD; give praise, you servants of GOD

2שֶׁעֹמְדִים בְּבֵית יְהֹוָה בְּחַצְרוֹת בֵּית אֱלֹהֵֽינוּwho stand in the house of GOD, in the courts of the house of our God.

3הַֽלְלוּ־יָהּ כִּֽי־טוֹב יְהֹוָה זַמְּרוּ לִשְׁמוֹ כִּי נָעִֽיםPraise Yah, for GOD is good; sing hymns to this name, for it is pleasant.

4כִּֽי־יַעֲקֹב בָּחַר לוֹ יָהּ יִשְׂרָאֵל לִסְגֻלָּתֽוֹFor Yah has chosen to keep Jacob close, [treating] Israel as a treasured possession.

5כִּי אֲנִי יָדַעְתִּי כִּֽי־גָדוֹל יְהֹוָה וַאֲדֹנֵינוּ מִכׇּל־אֱלֹהִֽיםFor I know that GOD is great, that our Sovereign is greater than all gods.

6כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־חָפֵץ יְהֹוָה עָשָׂה בַּשָּׁמַיִם וּבָאָרֶץ בַּיַּמִּים וְכׇל־תְּהֹמֽוֹתWhatever GOD desires is done in heaven and earth, in the seas and all the depths.

7מַעֲלֶה נְשִׂאִים מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ בְּרָקִים לַמָּטָר עָשָׂה מֽוֹצֵא־רוּחַ מֵאֽוֹצְרוֹתָֽיוThis is who makes clouds rise from the end of the earth; who makes lightning for the rain; who releases the wind from divine vaults.

8שֶׁהִכָּה בְּכוֹרֵי מִצְרָיִם מֵאָדָם עַד־בְּהֵמָֽה[God] struck down the first-born of Egypt, human and animal alike—

9שָׁלַח אוֹתֹת וּמֹפְתִים בְּתוֹכֵכִי מִצְרָיִם בְּפַרְעֹה וּבְכׇל־עֲבָדָֽיוsending signs and portents against Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants,

10שֶׁהִכָּה גּוֹיִם רַבִּים וְהָרַג מְלָכִים עֲצוּמִֽיםstriking down many nations and slaying numerous kings—

11לְסִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי וּלְעוֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן וּלְכֹל מַמְלְכוֹת כְּנָֽעַןSihon, king of the Amorites, Og, king of Bashan, and all the royalty of Canaan—

12וְנָתַן אַרְצָם נַחֲלָה נַחֲלָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַמּֽוֹand giving their lands as a heritage, as a heritage to Israel—God’s people.

13יְהֹוָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם יְהֹוָה זִכְרְךָ לְדֹר־וָדֹֽרO ETERNAL One, Your name endures forever, Your fame, O ETERNAL One, through all generations;

14כִּֽי־יָדִין יְהֹוָה עַמּוֹ וְעַל־עֲבָדָיו יִתְנֶחָֽםfor GOD will champion this people, and obtain satisfaction for their service.

15עֲצַבֵּי הַגּוֹיִם כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב מַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵי אָדָֽםThe idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands.

16פֶּֽה־לָהֶם וְלֹא יְדַבֵּרוּ עֵינַיִם לָהֶם וְלֹא יִרְאֽוּThey have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;

17אׇזְנַיִם לָהֶם וְלֹא יַאֲזִינוּ אַף אֵין־יֶשׁ־רוּחַ בְּפִיהֶֽםthey have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths.

18כְּמוֹהֶם יִהְיוּ עֹשֵׂיהֶם כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־בֹּטֵחַ בָּהֶֽםThose who fashion them, all who trust in them, shall become like them.

19בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּרְכוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה בֵּית אַהֲרֹן בָּרְכוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָֽהO house of Israel, bless GOD; O house of Aaron, bless GOD;

20בֵּית הַלֵּוִי בָּרְכוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה יִֽרְאֵי יְהֹוָה בָּרְכוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָֽהO house of Levi, bless GOD; you who fear GOD, bless GOD.

21בָּרוּךְ יְהֹוָה מִצִּיּוֹן שֹׁכֵן יְֽרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּBlessed is GOD from Zion, the One who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah.

1הוֹדוּ לַיהֹוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹPraise GOD, who is good, —whose steadfast love is eternal.

2הוֹדוּ לֵאלֹהֵי הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹPraise the God of gods, —whose steadfast love is eternal.

3הוֹדוּ לַאֲדֹנֵי הָאֲדֹנִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹPraise the Sovereign of sovereigns, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

4לְעֹשֵׂה נִפְלָאוֹת גְּדֹלוֹת לְבַדּוֹ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho alone works great marvels, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

5לְעֹשֵׂה הַשָּׁמַיִם בִּתְבוּנָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho made the heavens with wisdom, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

6לְרֹקַע הָאָרֶץ עַל־הַמָּיִם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho spread the earth over the water, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

7לְעֹשֵׂה אוֹרִים גְּדֹלִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho made the great lights, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

8אֶת־הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לְמֶמְשֶׁלֶת בַּיּוֹם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹthe sun to dominate the day, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

9אֶת־הַיָּרֵחַ וְכוֹכָבִים לְמֶמְשְׁלוֹת בַּלָּיְלָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹthe moon and the stars to dominate the night, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

10לְמַכֵּה מִצְרַיִם בִּבְכוֹרֵיהֶם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho struck Egypt through their first-born, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

11וַיּוֹצֵא יִשְׂרָאֵל מִתּוֹכָם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹand brought Israel out of their midst, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

12בְּיָד חֲזָקָה וּבִזְרוֹעַ נְטוּיָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹwith a strong hand and outstretched arm, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

13לְגֹזֵר יַם־סוּף לִגְזָרִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho split apart the Sea of Reeds, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

14וְהֶעֱבִיר יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּתוֹכוֹ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹand made Israel pass through it, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

15וְנִעֵר פַּרְעֹה וְחֵילוֹ בְיַם־סוּף כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho hurled Pharaoh and his army into the Sea of Reeds, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

16לְמוֹלִיךְ עַמּוֹ בַּמִּדְבָּר כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho led this people through the wilderness, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

17לְמַכֵּה מְלָכִים גְּדֹלִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho struck down great kings, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

18וַֽיַּהֲרֹג מְלָכִים אַדִּירִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹand slew mighty kings, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

19לְסִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹSihon, king of the Amorites, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

20וּלְעוֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹOg, king of Bashan, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

21וְנָתַן אַרְצָם לְנַחֲלָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹand gave their land as a heritage, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

22נַחֲלָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַבְדּוֹ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹa heritage to Israel—God’s servant, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

23שֶׁבְּשִׁפְלֵנוּ זָכַר לָנוּ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho took note of us in our degradation, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

24וַיִּפְרְקֵנוּ מִצָּרֵינוּ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹand rescued us from our enemies, —whose steadfast love is eternal;

25נֹתֵן לֶחֶם לְכׇל־בָּשָׂר כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹWho gives food to all flesh, —whose steadfast love is eternal.

26הוֹדוּ לְאֵל הַשָּׁמָיִם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹPraise the God of heaven, —whose steadfast love is eternal.

1עַל־נַהֲרוֹת בָּבֶל שָׁם יָשַׁבְנוּ גַּם־בָּכִינוּ בְּזׇכְרֵנוּ אֶת־צִיּֽוֹןBy the rivers of Babylon, there we sat, sat and wept, as we thought of Zion.

2עַֽל־עֲרָבִים בְּתוֹכָהּ תָּלִינוּ כִּנֹּרוֹתֵֽינוּThere on the poplars we hung up our lyres,

3כִּי שָׁם שְֽׁאֵלוּנוּ שׁוֹבֵינוּ דִּבְרֵי־שִׁיר וְתוֹלָלֵינוּ שִׂמְחָה שִׁירוּ לָנוּ מִשִּׁיר צִיּֽוֹןfor our captors asked us there for songs, our tormentors, for amusement: “Sing us one of the songs of Zion.”

4אֵיךְ נָשִׁיר אֶת־שִׁיר־יְהֹוָה עַל אַדְמַת נֵכָֽרHow can we sing a song of GOD on alien soil?

5אִֽם־אֶשְׁכָּחֵךְ יְֽרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם תִּשְׁכַּח יְמִינִֽיIf I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither;

6תִּדְבַּֽק־לְשׁוֹנִי לְחִכִּי אִם־לֹא אֶזְכְּרֵכִי אִם־לֹא אַעֲלֶה אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם עַל רֹאשׁ שִׂמְחָתִֽיlet my tongue stick to my palate if I cease to think of you, if I do not keep Jerusalem in memory even at my happiest hour.

7זְכֹר יְהֹוָה לִבְנֵי אֱדוֹם אֵת יוֹם יְֽרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם הָאֹמְרִים עָרוּ עָרוּ עַד הַיְסוֹד בָּֽהּRemember, O ETERNAL One, against the Edomites the day of Jerusalem’s fall; how they cried, “Strip her, strip her to her very foundations!”

8בַּת־בָּבֶל הַשְּׁדוּדָה אַשְׁרֵי שֶׁיְשַׁלֶּם־לָךְ אֶת־גְּמוּלֵךְ שֶׁגָּמַלְתְּ לָֽנוּFair Babylon, you predator, a blessing on the one who repays you in kind what you have inflicted on us;

9אַשְׁרֵי שֶׁיֹּאחֵז וְנִפֵּץ אֶֽת־עֹלָלַיִךְ אֶל־הַסָּֽלַעa blessing on the one who seizes your babies and dashes them against the rocks!

1לְדָוִד אוֹדְךָ בְכׇל־לִבִּי נֶגֶד אֱלֹהִים אֲזַמְּרֶֽךָּOf David. I praise You with all my heart, sing a hymn to You before the divine beings;

2אֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶה אֶל־הֵיכַל קׇדְשְׁךָ וְאוֹדֶה אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ עַל־חַסְדְּךָ וְעַל־אֲמִתֶּךָ כִּֽי־הִגְדַּלְתָּ עַל־כׇּל־שִׁמְךָ אִמְרָתֶֽךָI bow toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your steadfast love and faithfulness, because You have exalted Your name, Your word, above all.

3בְּיוֹם קָרָֽאתִי וַֽתַּעֲנֵנִי תַּרְהִבֵנִי בְנַפְשִׁי עֹֽזWhen I called, You answered me, You inspired me with courage.

4יוֹדוּךָ יְהֹוָה כׇּל־מַלְכֵי־אָרֶץ כִּי שָׁמְעוּ אִמְרֵי־פִֽיךָAll the kings of the earth shall praise You, O ETERNAL One, for they have heard the words You spoke.

5וְיָשִׁירוּ בְּדַרְכֵי יְהֹוָה כִּֽי־גָדוֹל כְּבוֹד יְהֹוָֽהThey shall sing of GOD’s ways, “Great is GOD’s majesty!”

6כִּי־רָם יְהֹוָה וְשָׁפָל יִרְאֶה וְגָבֹהַּ מִמֶּרְחָק יְיֵדָֽעFrom way up high GOD sees the lowly; aloft, yet perceiving from afar.

7אִם־אֵלֵךְ בְּקֶרֶב צָרָה תְּחַיֵּנִי עַל אַף אֹיְבַי תִּשְׁלַח יָדֶךָ וְתוֹשִׁיעֵנִי יְמִינֶֽךָThough I walk among enemies, You preserve me in the face of my foes; You extend Your hand; with Your right hand You deliver me.

8יְהֹוָה יִגְמֹר בַּעֲדִי יְהֹוָה חַסְדְּךָ לְעוֹלָם מַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ אַל־תֶּֽרֶףGOD will settle accounts for me. O ETERNAL One, Your steadfast love is eternal; do not forsake the work of Your hands.

1לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר יְהֹוָה חֲקַרְתַּנִי וַתֵּדָֽעFor the leader. Of David. A psalm. O ETERNAL One, You have examined me and know me.

2אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ שִׁבְתִּי וְקוּמִי בַּנְתָּה לְרֵעִי מֵרָחֽוֹקWhen I sit down or stand up You know it; You discern my thoughts from afar.

3אׇרְחִי וְרִבְעִי זֵרִיתָ וְֽכׇל־דְּרָכַי הִסְכַּֽנְתָּהYou observe my walking and reclining, and are familiar with all my ways.

4כִּי אֵין מִלָּה בִּלְשׁוֹנִי הֵן יְהֹוָה יָדַעְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּThere is not a word on my tongue but that You, O ETERNAL One, know it well.

5אָחוֹר וָקֶדֶם צַרְתָּנִי וַתָּשֶׁת עָלַי כַּפֶּֽכָהYou hedge me before and behind; You lay Your hand upon me.

6(פלאיה) [פְּלִיאָֽה] דַעַת מִמֶּנִּי נִשְׂגְּבָה לֹא־אוּכַֽל לָֽהּIt is beyond my knowledge; it is a mystery; I cannot fathom it.

7אָנָֽה אֵלֵךְ מֵרוּחֶךָ וְאָנָה מִפָּנֶיךָ אֶבְרָֽחWhere can I escape from Your spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence?

8אִם־אֶסַּק שָׁמַיִם שָׁם אָתָּה וְאַצִּיעָה שְּׁאוֹל הִנֶּֽךָּIf I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I descend to Sheol, You are there too.

9אֶשָּׂא כַנְפֵי־שָׁחַר אֶשְׁכְּנָה בְּאַחֲרִית יָֽםIf I take wing with the dawn to come to rest on the western horizon,

10גַּם־שָׁם יָדְךָ תַנְחֵנִי וְֽתֹאחֲזֵנִי יְמִינֶֽךָeven there Your hand will be guiding me, Your right hand will be holding me fast.

11וָאֹמַר אַךְ־חֹשֶׁךְ יְשׁוּפֵנִי וְלַיְלָה אוֹר בַּעֲדֵֽנִיIf I say, “Surely darkness will conceal me, night will provide me with cover,”

12גַּם־חֹשֶׁךְ לֹא־יַחְשִׁיךְ מִמֶּךָּ וְלַיְלָה כַּיּוֹם יָאִיר כַּחֲשֵׁיכָה כָּאוֹרָֽהdarkness is not dark for You; night is as light as day; darkness and light are the same.

13כִּֽי־אַתָּה קָנִיתָ כִלְיֹתָי תְּסֻכֵּנִי בְּבֶטֶן אִמִּֽיIt was You who created my conscience; You fashioned me in my mother’s womb.

14אוֹדְךָ עַל כִּי נוֹרָאוֹת נִפְלֵיתִי נִפְלָאִים מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וְנַפְשִׁי יֹדַעַת מְאֹֽדI praise You, for I am awesomely, wondrously made; Your work is wonderful; I know it very well.

15לֹֽא־נִכְחַד עׇצְמִי מִמֶּךָּ אֲשֶׁר־עֻשֵּׂיתִי בַסֵּתֶר רֻקַּמְתִּי בְּֽתַחְתִּיּוֹת אָֽרֶץMy frame was not concealed from You when I was shaped in a hidden place, knit together in the recesses of the earth.

16גׇּלְמִי רָאוּ עֵינֶיךָ וְעַֽל־סִפְרְךָ כֻּלָּם יִכָּתֵבוּ יָמִים יֻצָּרוּ (ולא) [וְלוֹ] אֶחָד בָּהֶֽםYour eyes saw my unformed limbs; they were all recorded in Your book; in due time they were formed, to the very last one of them.

17וְלִי מַה־יָּקְרוּ רֵעֶיךָ אֵל מֶה עָצְמוּ רָאשֵׁיהֶֽםHow weighty Your thoughts seem to me, O God, how great their number!

18אֶסְפְּרֵם מֵחוֹל יִרְבּוּן הֱקִיצֹתִי וְעוֹדִי עִמָּֽךְI count them—they exceed the grains of sand; I end—but am still with You.

19אִם־תִּקְטֹל אֱלוֹהַּ רָשָׁע וְאַנְשֵׁי דָמִים סוּרוּ מֶֽנִּיO God, if You would only slay the wicked— you murderers, away from me!—

20אֲשֶׁר יֹמְרוּךָ לִמְזִמָּה נָשׂוּא לַשָּׁוְא עָרֶֽיךָwho invoke You for intrigue, Your enemies who swear by You falsely.

21הֲלֽוֹא־מְשַׂנְאֶיךָ יְהֹוָה אֶשְׂנָא וּבִתְקוֹמְמֶיךָ אֶתְקוֹטָֽטO ETERNAL One, You know I hate those who hate You, and loathe Your adversaries.

22תַּכְלִית שִׂנְאָה שְׂנֵאתִים לְאוֹיְבִים הָיוּ לִֽיI feel a perfect hatred toward them; I count them my enemies.

23חׇקְרֵנִי אֵל וְדַע לְבָבִי בְּחָנֵנִי וְדַע שַׂרְעַפָּֽיExamine me, O God, and know my mind; probe me and know my thoughts.

24וּרְאֵה אִם־דֶּֽרֶךְ־עֹצֶב בִּי וּנְחֵנִי בְּדֶרֶךְ עוֹלָֽםSee if I have vexatious ways, and guide me in ways everlasting.

1לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽדFor the leader. A psalm of David.

2חַלְּצֵנִי יְהֹוָה מֵאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵֽנִיRescue me, O ETERNAL One, from evildoers; save me from lawless opponents,

3אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ רָעוֹת בְּלֵב כׇּל־יוֹם יָגוּרוּ מִלְחָמֽוֹתwhose minds are full of evil schemes, who plot war every day.

4שָׁנְנוּ לְשׁוֹנָם כְּֽמוֹ־נָחָשׁ חֲמַת עַכְשׁוּב תַּחַת שְׂפָתֵימוֹ סֶֽלָהThey sharpen their tongues like serpents; spiders’ poison is on their lips. Selah.

5שׇׁמְרֵנִי יְהֹוָה מִידֵי רָשָׁע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ לִדְחוֹת פְּעָמָֽיO ETERNAL One, keep me out of the clutches of the wicked; save me from lawless opponents who scheme to make me fall.

6טָמְנֽוּ־גֵאִים פַּח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד־מַעְגָּל מֹקְשִׁים שָׁתוּ־לִי סֶֽלָהArrogant ones laid traps with ropes for me; they spread out a net along the way; they set snares for me. Selah.

7אָמַרְתִּי לַיהֹוָה אֵלִי אָתָּה הַאֲזִינָה יְהֹוָה קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָֽיI said to GOD: You are my God; give ear, O ETERNAL One, to my pleas for mercy.

8יֱהֹוִה אֲדֹנָי עֹז יְשׁוּעָתִי סַכֹּתָה לְרֹאשִׁי בְּיוֹם נָֽשֶׁקO GOD, my Sovereign, the strength of my deliverance, You protected my head on the day of battle.

9אַל־תִּתֵּן יְהֹוָה מַאֲוַיֵּי רָשָׁע זְמָמוֹ אַל־תָּפֵק יָרוּמוּ סֶֽלָהO ETERNAL One, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not let their plan succeed, else they be exalted. Selah.

10רֹאשׁ מְסִבָּי עֲמַל שְׂפָתֵימוֹ (יכסומו) [יְכַסֵּֽימוֹ]May the heads of those who beset me be covered with the mischief of their lips.

11(ימיטו) [יִמּוֹטוּ] עֲלֵיהֶם גֶּחָלִים בָּאֵשׁ יַפִּלֵם בְּמַהֲמֹרוֹת בַּל־יָקֽוּמוּMay coals of fire drop down upon them, and they be cast into pits, never to rise again.

12אִישׁ לָשׁוֹן בַּל־יִכּוֹן בָּאָרֶץ אִישׁ־חָמָס רָע יְצוּדֶנּוּ לְמַדְחֵפֹֽתLet slanderers have no place in the land; let the evil of the lawless drive them into corrals.

13(ידעת) [יָדַעְתִּי] כִּֽי־יַעֲשֶׂה יְהֹוָה דִּין עָנִי מִשְׁפַּט אֶבְיֹנִֽיםI know that GOD will champion the cause of the poor, the right of the needy.

14אַךְ צַדִּיקִים יוֹדוּ לִשְׁמֶךָ יֵשְׁבוּ יְשָׁרִים אֶת־פָּנֶֽיךָThe righteous shall surely praise Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.

1מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהֹוָה קְרָאתִיךָ חוּשָׁה לִּי הַאֲזִינָה קוֹלִי בְּקׇרְאִי־לָֽךְA psalm of David. I call You, O ETERNAL One, hasten to me; give ear to my cry when I call You.

2תִּכּוֹן תְּפִלָּתִי קְטֹרֶת לְפָנֶיךָ מַֽשְׂאַת כַּפַּי מִנְחַת־עָֽרֶבTake my prayer as an offering of incense, my upraised hands as an evening sacrifice.

3שִׁיתָה יְהֹוָה שׇׁמְרָה לְפִי נִצְּרָה עַל־דַּל שְׂפָתָֽיO ETERNAL One, set a guard over my mouth, a watch at the door of my lips;

4אַל־תַּט־לִבִּי לְדָבָר רָע לְהִתְעוֹלֵל עֲלִלוֹת בְּרֶשַׁע אֶת־אִישִׁים פֹּעֲלֵי־אָוֶן וּבַל־אֶלְחַם בְּמַנְעַמֵּיהֶֽםlet my mind not turn to an evil thing, to practice deeds of wickedness with those evildoers; let me not feast on their dainties.

5יֶהֶלְמֵֽנִי־צַדִּיק חֶסֶד וְֽיוֹכִיחֵנִי שֶׁמֶן רֹאשׁ אַל־יָנִי רֹאשִׁי כִּי־עוֹד וּתְפִלָּתִי בְּרָעוֹתֵיהֶֽםLet someone righteous strike me in loyalty and reprove me; let my head not refuse such choice oil. My prayers are still against their evil deeds.

6נִשְׁמְטוּ בִֽידֵי־סֶלַע שֹׁפְטֵיהֶם וְשָׁמְעוּ אֲמָרַי כִּי נָעֵֽמוּMay their judges slip on the rock, but let my words be heard, for they are sweet.

7כְּמוֹ פֹלֵחַ וּבֹקֵעַ בָּאָרֶץ נִפְזְרוּ עֲצָמֵינוּ לְפִי שְׁאֽוֹלAs when the earth is cleft and broken up our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

8כִּי אֵלֶיךָ יֱהֹוִה אֲדֹנָי עֵינָי בְּכָה חָסִיתִי אַל־תְּעַר נַפְשִֽׁיMy eyes are fixed upon You, O GOD my Sovereign; I seek refuge in You, do not put me in jeopardy.

9שׇׁמְרֵנִי מִידֵי פַח יָקְשׁוּ לִי וּמֹקְשׁוֹת פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶןKeep me from the trap laid for me, and from the snares of evildoers.

10יִפְּלוּ בְמַכְמֹרָיו רְשָׁעִים יַחַד אָנֹכִי עַֽד־אֶעֱבֽוֹרLet the wicked fall into their nets while I alone come through.

1מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִד בִּֽהְיוֹתוֹ בַמְּעָרָה תְפִלָּֽהA maskil of David, while he was in the cave. A prayer.

2קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהֹוָה אֶזְעָק קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהֹוָה אֶתְחַנָּֽןI cry aloud to GOD; I appeal to GOD loudly for mercy.

3אֶשְׁפֹּךְ לְפָנָיו שִׂיחִי צָרָתִי לְפָנָיו אַגִּֽידI pour out my complaint directly; I recount my tale of trouble

4בְּהִתְעַטֵּף עָלַי רוּחִי וְאַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ נְֽתִיבָתִי בְּאֹֽרַח־זוּ אֲהַלֵּךְ טָמְנוּ פַח לִֽיwhen my spirit fails within me. You know my course; they have laid a trap in the path I walk.

5הַבֵּיט יָמִין וּרְאֵה וְאֵֽין־לִי מַכִּיר אָבַד מָנוֹס מִמֶּנִּי אֵין דּוֹרֵשׁ לְנַפְשִֽׁיLook at my right and see— I have no friend; there is nowhere I can flee, no one cares about me.

6זָעַקְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ יְהֹוָה אָמַרְתִּי אַתָּה מַחְסִי חֶלְקִי בְּאֶרֶץ הַחַיִּֽיםSo I cry to You, O ETERNAL One; I say, “You are my refuge, all I have in the land of the living.”

7הַקְשִׁיבָה אֶֽל־רִנָּתִי כִּֽי־דַלּוֹתִי מְאֹד הַצִּילֵנִי מֵרֹדְפַי כִּי אָמְצוּ מִמֶּֽנִּיListen to my cry, for I have been brought very low; save me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.

8הוֹצִיאָה מִמַּסְגֵּר נַפְשִׁי לְהוֹדוֹת אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ בִּי יַכְתִּרוּ צַדִּיקִים כִּי תִגְמֹל עָלָֽיFree me from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous shall glory in me for Your gracious dealings with me.

1מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהֹוָה שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה אֶל־תַּחֲנוּנַי בֶּאֱמֻנָתְךָ עֲנֵנִי בְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָA psalm of David. O ETERNAL One, hear my prayer; give ear to my plea, as You are faithful; answer me, as You are beneficent.

2וְאַל־תָּבוֹא בְמִשְׁפָּט אֶת־עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי לֹֽא־יִצְדַּק לְפָנֶיךָ כׇל־חָֽיDo not enter into judgment with Your servant, for before You no creature is in the right.

3כִּי רָדַף אוֹיֵב נַפְשִׁי דִּכָּא לָאָרֶץ חַיָּתִי הוֹשִׁבַנִי בְמַחֲשַׁכִּים כְּמֵתֵי עוֹלָֽםMy foe hounded me; he crushed me to the ground; he made me dwell in darkness like those long dead.

4וַתִּתְעַטֵּף עָלַי רוּחִי בְּתוֹכִי יִשְׁתּוֹמֵם לִבִּֽיMy spirit failed within me; my mind was numbed with horror.

5זָכַרְתִּי יָמִים מִקֶּדֶם הָגִיתִי בְכׇל־פׇּעֳלֶךָ בְּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ אֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַThen I thought of the days of old; I rehearsed all Your deeds, recounted the work of Your hands.

6פֵּרַשְׂתִּי יָדַי אֵלֶיךָ נַפְשִׁי כְּאֶרֶץ־עֲיֵפָה לְךָ סֶֽלָהI stretched out my hands to You, longing for You like thirsty earth. Selah.

7מַהֵר עֲנֵנִי יְהֹוָה כָּלְתָה רוּחִי אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי וְנִמְשַׁלְתִּי עִם־יֹרְדֵי בֽוֹרAnswer me quickly, O ETERNAL One; my spirit can endure no more. Do not hide Your face from me, or I shall become like those who descend into the Pit.

8הַשְׁמִיעֵנִי בַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ כִּֽי־בְךָ בָטָחְתִּי הוֹדִיעֵנִי דֶּרֶךְ־זוּ אֵלֵךְ כִּי־אֵלֶיךָ נָשָׂאתִי נַפְשִֽׁיLet me learn of Your faithfulness by daybreak, for in You I trust; let me know the road I must take, for on You I have set my hope.

9הַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבַי יְהֹוָה אֵלֶיךָ כִסִּֽתִיSave me from my foes, O ETERNAL One; to You I look for cover.

10לַמְּדֵנִי לַעֲשׂוֹת רְצוֹנֶךָ כִּֽי־אַתָּה אֱלוֹהָי רוּחֲךָ טוֹבָה תַּנְחֵנִי בְּאֶרֶץ מִישֽׁוֹרTeach me to do Your will, for You are my God. Let Your gracious spirit lead me on level ground.

11לְמַעַן־שִׁמְךָ יְהֹוָה תְּחַיֵּנִי בְּצִדְקָתְךָ תּוֹצִיא מִצָּרָה נַפְשִֽׁיFor the sake of Your name, O ETERNAL One, preserve me; as You are beneficent, free me from distress.

12וּֽבְחַסְדְּךָ תַּצְמִית אֹיְבָי וְֽהַאֲבַדְתָּ כׇּל־צֹרְרֵי נַפְשִׁי כִּי אֲנִי עַבְדֶּֽךָAs You are faithful, put an end to my foes; destroy all my mortal enemies, for I am Your servant.

1לְדָוִד בָּרוּךְ יְהֹוָה צוּרִי הַֽמְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַקְרָב אֶצְבְּעוֹתַי לַמִּלְחָמָֽהOf David. Blessed is GOD, my rock, who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for warfare;

2חַסְדִּי וּמְצוּדָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי וּֽמְפַלְטִי־לִי מָגִנִּי וּבוֹ חָסִיתִי הָרוֹדֵד עַמִּי תַחְתָּֽיmy faithful one, my fortress, my haven and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take shelter, who makes peoples subject to me.

3יְֽהֹוָה מָֽה־אָדָם וַתֵּדָעֵהוּ בֶּן־אֱנוֹשׁ וַֽתְּחַשְּׁבֵֽהוּO ETERNAL One, what are mortals that You should care about them, human beings, that You should think of them?

4אָדָם לַהֶבֶל דָּמָה יָמָיו כְּצֵל עוֹבֵֽרThey are like a breath; their days are like a passing shadow.

5יְהֹוָה הַט־שָׁמֶיךָ וְתֵרֵד גַּע בֶּהָרִים וְֽיֶעֱשָֽׁנוּO ETERNAL One, bend Your sky and come down; touch the mountains and they will smoke.

6בְּרוֹק בָּרָק וּתְפִיצֵם שְׁלַח חִצֶּיךָ וּתְהֻמֵּֽםMake lightning flash and scatter them; shoot Your arrows and rout them.

7שְׁלַח יָדֶיךָ מִמָּרוֹם פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִמַּיִם רַבִּים מִיַּד בְּנֵי נֵכָֽרReach Your hand down from on high; rescue me, save me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners,

8אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִימִינָם יְמִין שָֽׁקֶרwhose mouths speak lies, and whose oaths are false.

9אֱֽלֹהִים שִׁיר חָדָשׁ אָשִׁירָה לָּךְ בְּנֵבֶל עָשׂוֹר אֲזַמְּרָה־לָּֽךְO God, I will sing You a new song, sing a hymn to You with a ten-stringed harp—

10הַנּוֹתֵן תְּשׁוּעָה לַמְּלָכִים הַפּוֹצֶה אֶת־דָּוִד עַבְדּוֹ מֵחֶרֶב רָעָֽהto the One who gives victory to kings, who rescues David—God’s servant—from the deadly sword.

11פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִיַּד בְּֽנֵי־נֵכָר אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִימִינָם יְמִין שָֽׁקֶרRescue me, save me from the hands of foreigners, whose mouths speak lies, and whose oaths are false.

12אֲשֶׁר בָּנֵינוּ כִּנְטִעִים מְגֻדָּלִים בִּֽנְעוּרֵיהֶם בְּנוֹתֵינוּ כְזָוִיֹּת מְחֻטָּבוֹת תַּבְנִית הֵיכָֽלFor our sons are like saplings, well-tended in their youth; our daughters are like cornerstones trimmed to give shape to a palace.

13מְזָוֵינוּ מְלֵאִים מְפִיקִים מִזַּן אֶל־זַן צֹאונֵנוּ מַאֲלִיפוֹת מְרֻבָּבוֹת בְּחוּצוֹתֵֽינוּOur storehouses are full, supplying produce of all kinds; our flocks number thousands, even myriads, in our fields;

14אַלּוּפֵינוּ מְֽסֻבָּלִים אֵֽין־פֶּרֶץ וְאֵין יוֹצֵאת וְאֵין צְוָחָה בִּרְחֹבֹתֵֽינוּour cattle are well cared for. There is no breaching and no sortie, and no wailing in our streets.

15אַשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֶׁכָּכָה לּוֹ אַֽשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֱׁיְהֹוָה אֱלֹהָֽיוHappy the people who have it so; happy the people whose God is the ETERNAL.

1תְּהִלָּה לְדָוִד אֲרוֹמִמְךָ אֱלוֹהַי הַמֶּלֶךְ וַאֲבָרְכָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶֽדA song of praise. Of David. א I will extol You, my God and sovereign, and bless Your name forever and ever.

2בְּכׇל־יוֹם אֲבָרְכֶךָּ וַאֲהַלְלָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶֽדב Every day will I bless You and praise Your name forever and ever.

3גָּדוֹל יְהֹוָה וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד וְלִגְדֻלָּתוֹ אֵין חֵֽקֶרג Great is GOD and much acclaimed; such greatness cannot be fathomed.

4דּוֹר לְדוֹר יְשַׁבַּח מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וּגְבוּרֹתֶיךָ יַגִּֽידוּד One generation shall laud Your works to another and declare Your mighty acts.

5הֲדַר כְּבוֹד הוֹדֶךָ וְדִבְרֵי נִפְלְאֹתֶיךָ אָשִֽׂיחָהה The glorious majesty of Your splendor and Your wondrous acts will I recite.

6וֶעֱזוּז נֽוֹרְאֹתֶיךָ יֹאמֵרוּ (וגדלותיך) [וּגְדֻלָּתְךָ] אֲסַפְּרֶֽנָּהו All shall talk of the might of Your awesome deeds, and I will recount Your greatness.

7זֵכֶר רַב־טוּבְךָ יַבִּיעוּ וְצִדְקָתְךָ יְרַנֵּֽנוּז They shall celebrate Your abundant goodness, and sing joyously of Your beneficence.

8חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם יְהֹוָה אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם וּגְדׇל־חָֽסֶדח GOD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in kindness.

9טוֹב־יְהֹוָה לַכֹּל וְרַחֲמָיו עַל־כׇּל־מַעֲשָֽׂיוט GOD is good to all, and divine mercy is upon all God’s works.

10יוֹדוּךָ יְהֹוָה כׇּל־מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וַחֲסִידֶיךָ יְבָרְכֽוּכָהי All Your works shall praise You, O ETERNAL One, and Your faithful ones shall bless You.

11כְּבוֹד מַלְכוּתְךָ יֹאמֵרוּ וּגְבוּרָתְךָ יְדַבֵּֽרוּכ They shall talk of the majesty of Your sovereignty, and speak of Your might,

12לְהוֹדִיעַ לִבְנֵי הָאָדָם גְּבוּרֹתָיו וּכְבוֹד הֲדַר מַלְכוּתֽוֹל to make known to all humankind Your mighty acts and Your sovereignty’s majestic glory.

13מַֽלְכוּתְךָ מַלְכוּת כׇּל־עֹלָמִים וּמֶֽמְשַׁלְתְּךָ בְּכׇל־דּוֹר וָדֹֽרמ Your rule is an eternal rule; Your dominion is for all generations.

14סוֹמֵךְ יְהֹוָה לְכׇל־הַנֹּפְלִים וְזוֹקֵף לְכׇל־הַכְּפוּפִֽיםס GOD supports all who stumble, and makes all who are bent stand straight.

15עֵֽינֵי־כֹל אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּ וְאַתָּה נֽוֹתֵן־לָהֶם אֶת־אׇכְלָם בְּעִתּֽוֹע The eyes of all look to You expectantly, and You give them their food when it is due.

16פּוֹתֵחַ אֶת־יָדֶךָ וּמַשְׂבִּיעַ לְכׇל־חַי רָצֽוֹןפ You give it openhandedly, feeding every creature to its heart’s content.

17צַדִּיק יְהֹוָה בְּכׇל־דְּרָכָיו וְחָסִיד בְּכׇל־מַעֲשָֽׂיוצ GOD is beneficent in all ways and faithful in all works.

18קָרוֹב יְהֹוָה לְכׇל־קֹרְאָיו לְכֹל אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָאֻהוּ בֶאֱמֶֽתק GOD is near to all who call, to all who call with sincerity.

19רְצוֹן־יְרֵאָיו יַעֲשֶׂה וְֽאֶת־שַׁוְעָתָם יִשְׁמַע וְיוֹשִׁיעֵֽםר Fulfilling the wishes of those who show reverence, [God] hears their cry and delivers them.

20שׁוֹמֵר יְהֹוָה אֶת־כׇּל־אֹהֲבָיו וְאֵת כׇּל־הָרְשָׁעִים יַשְׁמִֽידש GOD watches over all who show their love, but all the wicked are destroyed.

21תְּהִלַּת יְהֹוָה יְֽדַבֶּר־פִּי וִיבָרֵךְ כׇּל־בָּשָׂר שֵׁם קׇדְשׁוֹ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶֽדת My mouth shall utter the praise of GOD, whose holy name all creatures shall bless forever and ever.

1הַֽלְלוּ־יָהּ הַֽלְלִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהֹוָֽהHallelujah. Praise GOD, O my soul!

2אֲהַלְלָה יְהֹוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהַי בְּעוֹדִֽיI will praise GOD all my life, sing hymns to my God while I exist.

3אַל־תִּבְטְחוּ בִנְדִיבִים בְּבֶן־אָדָם שֶׁאֵין לוֹ תְשׁוּעָֽהPut not your trust in the great, in mortals who cannot save.

4תֵּצֵא רוּחוֹ יָשֻׁב לְאַדְמָתוֹ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא אָבְדוּ עֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָֽיוTheir breath departs; they return to the dust; on that day their plans come to nothing.

5אַשְׁרֵי שֶׁאֵל יַעֲקֹב בְּעֶזְרוֹ שִׂבְרוֹ עַל־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהָֽיוHappy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the ETERNAL their God,

6עֹשֶׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ אֶת־הַיָּם וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּם הַשֹּׁמֵר אֱמֶת לְעוֹלָֽםmaker of heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever;

7עֹשֶׂה מִשְׁפָּט לָעֲשׁוּקִים נֹתֵן לֶחֶם לָרְעֵבִים יְהֹוָה מַתִּיר אֲסוּרִֽיםwho secures justice for those who are wronged, gives food to the hungry. GOD sets prisoners free;

8יְהֹוָה פֹּקֵחַ עִוְרִים יְהֹוָה זֹקֵף כְּפוּפִים יְהֹוָה אֹהֵב צַדִּיקִֽיםGOD restores sight to the blind; GOD makes those who are bent stand straight; GOD loves the righteous;

9יְהֹוָה שֹׁמֵר אֶת־גֵּרִים יָתוֹם וְאַלְמָנָה יְעוֹדֵד וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים יְעַוֵּֽתGOD watches over the stranger and gives courage to the orphan and widow, but makes the path of the wicked tortuous.

10יִמְלֹךְ יְהֹוָה לְעוֹלָם אֱלֹהַיִךְ צִיּוֹן לְדֹר וָדֹר הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּGOD shall reign forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Hallelujah.

1הַלְלוּ־יָהּ כִּי־טוֹב זַמְּרָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ כִּי־נָעִים נָאוָה תְהִלָּֽהHallelujah. It is good to chant hymns to our God; it is pleasant to sing glorious praise.

2בּוֹנֵה יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם יְהֹוָה נִדְחֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יְכַנֵּֽסGOD rebuilds Jerusalem, gathering in the exiles of Israel—

3הָרֹפֵא לִשְׁבוּרֵי לֵב וּמְחַבֵּשׁ לְעַצְּבוֹתָֽםhealing their broken hearts, and binding up their wounds.

4מוֹנֶה מִסְפָּר לַכּוֹכָבִים לְכֻלָּם שֵׁמוֹת יִקְרָֽא[God] reckoned the number of the stars and gave each its name.

5גָּדוֹל אֲדוֹנֵינוּ וְרַב־כֹּחַ לִתְבוּנָתוֹ אֵין מִסְפָּֽרGreat and full of power is our Sovereign— whose wisdom is beyond reckoning.

6מְעוֹדֵד עֲנָוִים יְהֹוָה מַשְׁפִּיל רְשָׁעִים עֲדֵי־אָֽרֶץGOD gives courage to the lowly, and brings the wicked down to the dust.

7עֱנוּ לַֽיהֹוָה בְּתוֹדָה זַמְּרוּ לֵאלֹהֵינוּ בְכִנּֽוֹרSing to GOD a song of praise, chant a hymn with a lyre to our God,

8הַֽמְכַסֶּה שָׁמַיִם בְּעָבִים הַמֵּכִין לָאָרֶץ מָטָר הַמַּצְמִיחַ הָרִים חָצִֽירwho covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, makes mountains put forth grass;

9נוֹתֵן לִבְהֵמָה לַחְמָהּ לִבְנֵי עֹרֵב אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָֽאוּwho gives the beasts their food, to the raven’s brood what they cry for.

10לֹא בִגְבוּרַת הַסּוּס יֶחְפָּץ לֹא־בְשׁוֹקֵי הָאִישׁ יִרְצֶֽה[God] does not prize the strength of horses, nor value the warrior’s fleetness;

11רוֹצֶה יְהֹוָה אֶת־יְרֵאָיו אֶת־הַֽמְיַחֲלִים לְחַסְדּֽוֹbut GOD values those who show reverence, those who depend on God’s faithful care.

12שַׁבְּחִי יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם אֶת־יְהֹוָה הַֽלְלִי אֱלֹהַיִךְ צִיּֽוֹןO Jerusalem, glorify GOD; praise your God, O Zion!

13כִּֽי־חִזַּק בְּרִיחֵי שְׁעָרָיִךְ בֵּרַךְ בָּנַיִךְ בְּקִרְבֵּֽךְFor the bars of your gates have been made strong, and your children have been blessed within you.

14הַשָּׂם־גְּבוּלֵךְ שָׁלוֹם חֵלֶב חִטִּים יַשְׂבִּיעֵֽךְYour realm has been endowed with well-being, and you have been satisfied with choice wheat.

15הַשֹּׁלֵחַ אִמְרָתוֹ אָרֶץ עַד־מְהֵרָה יָרוּץ דְּבָרֽוֹ[God] sends forth words to the earth with swift commands.

16הַנֹּתֵן שֶׁלֶג כַּצָּמֶר כְּפוֹר כָּאֵפֶר יְפַזֵּֽר[God] lays down snow like fleece, scatters frost like ashes.

17מַשְׁלִיךְ קַֽרְחוֹ כְפִתִּים לִפְנֵי קָרָתוֹ מִי יַעֲמֹֽד[God] tosses down hail like crumbs— who can endure such icy cold?

18יִשְׁלַח דְּבָרוֹ וְיַמְסֵם יַשֵּׁב רוּחוֹ יִזְּלוּ־מָֽיִם[God] issues a command—it melts them; breathes, and the waters flow.

19מַגִּיד דְּבָרָו לְיַעֲקֹב חֻקָּיו וּמִשְׁפָּטָיו לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽלDivine commands were issued to Jacob, God’s statutes and rules to Israel.

20לֹא־עָשָׂה כֵן לְכׇל־גּוֹי וּמִשְׁפָּטִים בַּל־יְדָעוּם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּThis was not done for any other nation; of such rules they know nothing. Hallelujah.

1הַלְלוּ־יָהּ הַֽלְלוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִם הַֽלְלוּהוּ בַּמְּרוֹמִֽיםHallelujah. Praise GOD from the heavens; give praise on high.

2הַֽלְלוּהוּ כׇל־מַלְאָכָיו הַלְלוּהוּ כׇּל־צְבָאָֽוGive praise, all you angels, give praise, all divine hosts.

3הַֽלְלוּהוּ שֶׁמֶשׁ וְיָרֵחַ הַֽלְלוּהוּ כׇּל־כּוֹכְבֵי אֽוֹרGive praise, sun and moon, give praise, all bright stars.

4הַֽלְלוּהוּ שְׁמֵי הַשָּׁמָיִם וְהַמַּיִם אֲשֶׁר מֵעַל הַשָּׁמָֽיִםGive praise, highest heavens, and you waters that are above the heavens.

5יְֽהַלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁם יְהֹוָה כִּי הוּא צִוָּה וְנִבְרָֽאוּLet them praise the name of GOD— who commanded that they be created,

6וַיַּעֲמִידֵם לָעַד לְעוֹלָם חׇק־נָתַן וְלֹא יַעֲבֽוֹרand who made them endure forever, establishing an order that shall never change.

7הַֽלְלוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה מִן־הָאָרֶץ תַּנִּינִים וְכׇל־תְּהֹמֽוֹתPraise GOD, O you who are on earth, all sea monsters and ocean depths,

8אֵשׁ וּבָרָד שֶׁלֶג וְקִיטוֹר רוּחַ סְעָרָה עֹשָׂה דְבָרֽוֹfire and hail, snow and smoke, storm wind that executes God’s command,

9הֶהָרִים וְכׇל־גְּבָעוֹת עֵץ פְּרִי וְכׇל־אֲרָזִֽיםall mountains and hills, all fruit trees and cedars,

10הַחַיָּה וְכׇל־בְּהֵמָה רֶמֶשׂ וְצִפּוֹר כָּנָֽףall wild and tamed animals, creeping things and winged birds,

11מַלְכֵי־אֶרֶץ וְכׇל־לְאֻמִּים שָׂרִים וְכׇל־שֹׁפְטֵי אָֽרֶץall kings and peoples of the earth, all princes of the earth and its judges,

12בַּחוּרִים וְגַם־בְּתוּלוֹת זְקֵנִים עִם־נְעָרִֽיםyouths and maidens alike, old and young together.

13יְהַלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁם יְהֹוָה כִּֽי־נִשְׂגָּב שְׁמוֹ לְבַדּוֹ הוֹדוֹ עַל־אֶרֶץ וְשָׁמָֽיִםLet them praise GOD’s name— for sublime is this name alone— of the One whose splendor covers heaven and earth.

14וַיָּרֶם קֶרֶן לְעַמּוֹ תְּהִלָּה לְֽכׇל־חֲסִידָיו לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַם קְרֹבוֹ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ[God] has exalted the horn of this people for the glory of all faithful ones, Israel, the people brought close. Hallelujah.

1הַלְלוּ־יָהּ שִׁירוּ לַֽיהֹוָה שִׁיר חָדָשׁ תְּהִלָּתוֹ בִּקְהַל חֲסִידִֽיםHallelujah. Sing to GOD a new song, sing praises in the congregation of the faithful.

2יִשְׂמַח יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּעֹשָׂיו בְּנֵֽי־צִיּוֹן יָגִילוּ בְמַלְכָּֽםLet Israel rejoice in its maker; let the children of Zion exult in their monarch.

3יְהַלְלוּ שְׁמוֹ בְמָחוֹל בְּתֹף וְכִנּוֹר יְזַמְּרוּ־לֽוֹLet them praise God’s name in dance; with hand-drum and lyre let them chant such praises.

4כִּֽי־רוֹצֶה יְהֹוָה בְּעַמּוֹ יְפָאֵר עֲנָוִים בִּישׁוּעָֽהFor GOD delights in this people, and adorns the lowly with victory.

5יַעְלְזוּ חֲסִידִים בְּכָבוֹד יְרַנְּנוּ עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָֽםLet the faithful exult in glory; let them shout for joy upon their couches,

6רוֹמְמוֹת אֵל בִּגְרוֹנָם וְחֶרֶב פִּיפִיּוֹת בְּיָדָֽםwith paeans to God in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands,

7לַעֲשׂוֹת נְקָמָה בַּגּוֹיִם תּוֹכֵחוֹת בַּלְאֻמִּֽיםto impose retribution upon the nations, punishment upon the peoples,

8לֶאְסֹר מַלְכֵיהֶם בְּזִקִּים וְנִכְבְּדֵיהֶם בְּכַבְלֵי בַרְזֶֽלbinding their kings with shackles, their nobles with chains of iron,

9לַעֲשׂוֹת בָּהֶם מִשְׁפָּט כָּתוּב הָדָר הוּא לְכׇל־חֲסִידָיו הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּexecuting the doom decreed against them. This is the glory of all the faithful. Hallelujah.

1הַלְלוּ־יָהּ הַֽלְלוּ־אֵל בְּקׇדְשׁוֹ הַֽלְלוּהוּ בִּרְקִיעַ עֻזּֽוֹHallelujah. Give praise in the divine sanctuary; give praise in the sky, the divine stronghold.

2הַלְלוּהוּ בִגְבוּרֹתָיו הַלְלוּהוּ כְּרֹב גֻּדְלֽוֹGive praise for mighty acts; give praise for exceeding greatness.

3הַלְלוּהוּ בְּתֵקַע שׁוֹפָר הַלְלוּהוּ בְּנֵבֶל וְכִנּֽוֹרGive praise with blasts of the horn; give praise with harp and lyre.

4הַלְלוּהוּ בְּתֹף וּמָחוֹל הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְּמִנִּים וְעֻגָֽבGive praise with hand-drum and dance; give praise with lute and pipe.

5הַלְלוּהוּ בְצִלְצְלֵי־שָׁמַע הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְּֽצִלְצְלֵי תְרוּעָֽהGive praise with resounding cymbals; give praise with loud-clashing cymbals.

6כֹּל הַנְּשָׁמָה תְּהַלֵּל יָהּ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּLet all that breathes praise Yah. Hallelujah.
