8אֱלֹהִים דִּבֶּר בְּקׇדְשׁוֹ אֶעְלֹזָה אֲחַלְּקָה שְׁכֶם וְעֵמֶק סֻכּוֹת אֲמַדֵּֽדGod promised in the sanctuary that I would exultingly divide up Shechem, and measure the Valley of Sukkoth;Elohim diber bekodsho elozah achalkah shechem veemek sukot amaded

10מוֹאָב סִיר רַחְצִי עַל־אֱדוֹם אַשְׁלִיךְ נַעֲלִי עֲלֵי־פְלֶשֶׁת אֶתְרוֹעָֽעMoab would be my washbasin; on Edom I would cast my shoe; I would raise a shout over Philistia.Moav sir rachtzi al-edom ashlich naali aley-feleshet etroa

11מִי יֹבִלֵנִי עִיר מִבְצָר מִי נָחַנִי עַד־אֱדֽוֹםWould that I were brought to the bastion! Would that I were led to Edom!Mi yovileni ir mivtzar mi nachani ad-edom

12הֲלֹֽא־אֱלֹהִים זְנַחְתָּנוּ וְֽלֹא־תֵצֵא אֱלֹהִים בְּצִבְאֹתֵֽינוּBut You have rejected us, O God; God, You do not march with our armies.Halo-elohim zenachtanu velo-tetze elohim betzivoteynu

13הָבָה־לָּנוּ עֶזְרָת מִצָּר וְשָׁוְא תְּשׁוּעַת אָדָֽםGrant us Your aid against the foe, for human help is worthless.Havah-lanu ezrat mitzar veshav teshuat adam

14בֵּאלֹהִים נַֽעֲשֶׂה־חָיִל וְהוּא יָבוּס צָרֵֽינוּWe shall triumph with God, who will trample our foes.Belohim naaseh-chayil vehu yavus tzareynu

1לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר אֱלֹהֵי תְהִלָּתִי אַֽל־תֶּחֱרַֽשׁFor the leader. Of David. A psalm. O God of my praise, do not keep aloof,Lamnatzecha ledavid mizmor elohey tehilati al-techerash

2כִּי פִי רָשָׁע וּֽפִי־מִרְמָה עָלַי פָּתָחוּ דִּבְּרוּ אִתִּי לְשׁוֹן שָֽׁקֶרfor the wicked and the deceitful open their mouth against me; they speak to me with lying tongue.Ki fi rasha ufi-mirmah alay patachu dibru iti leshon shaker

3וְדִבְרֵי שִׂנְאָה סְבָבוּנִי וַיִּֽלָּחֲמוּנִי חִנָּֽםThey encircle me with words of hate; they attack me without cause.Vedivrey sinah sevavuni vayilachamuni chinam

4תַּֽחַת־אַהֲבָתִי יִשְׂטְנוּנִי וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּֽהThey answer my love with accusation and I must stand judgmentTachat-ahavati yistnuni vaani tefilah

5וַיָּשִׂימוּ עָלַי רָעָה תַּחַת טוֹבָה וְשִׂנְאָה תַּחַת אַהֲבָתִֽיThey repay me with evil for good, with hatred for my love.Vayasimu alay raah tachat tovah vesinah tachat ahavati

6הַפְקֵד עָלָיו רָשָׁע וְשָׂטָן יַעֲמֹד עַל־יְמִינֽוֹAppoint someone wicked over him; may an accuser stand at his right side;Hafked alayv rasha vesatan yaamod al-yemino

7בְּהִשָּׁפְטוֹ יֵצֵא רָשָׁע וּתְפִלָּתוֹ תִּֽהְיֶה לַחֲטָאָֽהmay he be tried and convicted; may he be judged and found guilty.Behishafto yetze rasha utfilato tihyeh lachataah

8יִֽהְיוּ־יָמָיו מְעַטִּים פְּקֻדָּתוֹ יִקַּח אַחֵֽרMay his days be few; may another take over his position.Yihyu-yamayv meatim pekudato yikach acher

9יִֽהְיוּ־בָנָיו יְתוֹמִים וְאִשְׁתּוֹ אַלְמָנָֽהMay his children be orphans, his wife a widow.Yihyu-vanayv yetomim veishto almanah

10וְנוֹעַ יָנוּעוּ בָנָיו וְשִׁאֵלוּ וְדָרְשׁוּ מֵחׇרְבֽוֹתֵיהֶֽםMay his children wander from their hovels, begging in search of [bread].Venoa yanuu vanayv veshielu vedarshu mechorvoteyhem

11יְנַקֵּשׁ נוֹשֶׁה לְכׇל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ וְיָבֹזּוּ זָרִים יְגִיעֽוֹMay his creditor seize all his possessions; may strangers plunder his wealth.Yenakesh nosheh lechol-asher-lo veyavozu zarim yegio

12אַל־יְהִי־לוֹ מֹשֵׁךְ חָסֶד וְֽאַל־יְהִי חוֹנֵן לִֽיתוֹמָֽיוMay no one show him mercy; may none pity his orphans;Al-yehi-lo moshech chased veal-yehi chonen litomayv

13יְהִי־אַחֲרִיתוֹ לְהַכְרִית בְּדוֹר אַחֵר יִמַּח שְׁמָֽםmay his posterity be cut off; may their names be blotted out in the next generation.Yehi-acharito lehachrit bedor acher yimach shemam

14יִזָּכֵר עֲוֺן אֲבֹתָיו אֶל־יְהֹוָה וְחַטַּאת אִמּוֹ אַל־תִּמָּֽחMay God be ever mindful of his father’s iniquity, and may the sin of his mother not be blotted out.Yizacher aon avotayv el-Adonai vechatat imo al-timach

15יִהְיוּ נֶגֶד־יְהֹוָה תָּמִיד וְיַכְרֵת מֵאֶרֶץ זִכְרָֽםMay GOD be aware of them always and cause their names to be cut off from the earth,Yihyu neged-Adonai tamid veyachret meeretz zichram

16יַעַן אֲשֶׁר לֹא זָכַר עֲשׂוֹת חָסֶד וַיִּרְדֹּף אִישׁ־עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן וְנִכְאֵה לֵבָב לְמוֹתֵֽתbecause he was not minded to act kindly, and hounded to death the poor and needy man, one crushed in spirit.Yaan asher lo zachar asot chased vayirdof ish-ani veevyon venicheh levav lemotet

17וַיֶּאֱהַב קְלָלָה וַתְּבוֹאֵהוּ וְֽלֹא־חָפֵץ בִּבְרָכָה וַתִּרְחַק מִמֶּֽנּוּHe loved to curse—may a curse come upon him! He would not bless—may blessing be far from him!Vayeehav kelalah vatvoehu velo-chafetz bivrachah vatirchak mimenu

18וַיִּלְבַּשׁ קְלָלָה כְּמַדּוֹ וַתָּבֹא כַמַּיִם בְּקִרְבּוֹ וְכַשֶּׁמֶן בְּעַצְמוֹתָֽיוMay he be clothed in a curse like a garment, may it enter his body like water, his bones like oil.Vayilbash kelalah kemado vatavo chamayim bekirbo vechashemen beatzmotayv

19תְּהִי־לוֹ כְּבֶגֶד יַעְטֶה וּלְמֵזַח תָּמִיד יַחְגְּרֶֽהָLet it be like the cloak he wraps around him, like the belt he always wears.Tehi-lo keveged yateh ulmezach tamid yachgreh

20זֹאת פְּעֻלַּת שֹׂטְנַי מֵאֵת יְהֹוָה וְהַדֹּבְרִים רָע עַל־נַפְשִֽׁיMay GOD thus repay my accusers, all those who speak evil against me.Zot peulat sotnay meet Adonai vehadovrim ra al-nafshi

21וְאַתָּה יֱהֹוִה אֲדֹנָי עֲֽשֵׂה־אִתִּי לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ כִּי־טוֹב חַסְדְּךָ הַצִּילֵֽנִיNow You, O GOD, my Sovereign, act in my behalf as befits Your name. Good and faithful as You are, save me.Veatah yehovi adonay aseh-iti lemaan shemecha ki-tov chasdcha hatzileni

22כִּי־עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן אָנֹכִי וְלִבִּי חָלַל בְּקִרְבִּֽיFor I am poor and needy, and my heart is pierced within me.Ki-ani veevyon anochi velibi chalal bekirbi

23כְּצֵל־כִּנְטוֹתוֹ נֶהֱלָכְתִּי נִנְעַרְתִּי כָּאַרְבֶּֽהI fade away like a lengthening shadow; I am shaken off like locusts.Ketzel-kintoto nehelachti ninarti kaarbeh

24בִּרְכַּי כָּשְׁלוּ מִצּוֹם וּבְשָׂרִי כָּחַשׁ מִשָּֽׁמֶןMy knees give way from fasting; my flesh is lean, has lost its fat.Birkay kashlu mitzom uvsari kachash mishamen

25וַאֲנִי הָיִיתִי חֶרְפָּה לָהֶם יִרְאוּנִי יְנִיעוּן רֹאשָֽׁםI am the object of their scorn; when they see me, they shake their head.Vaani hayiti cherpah lahem yiruni yeniun rosham

26עׇזְרֵנִי יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהָי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי כְחַסְדֶּֽךָHelp me, O my ETERNAL God; save me in accord with Your faithfulness—Ozreni Adonai elohay hoshieni chechasdecha

27וְֽיֵדְעוּ כִּי־יָדְךָ זֹּאת אַתָּה יְהֹוָה עֲשִׂיתָֽהּthat all may know that it is Your hand, that You, O ETERNAL One, have done it.Veyedu ki-yadcha zot atah Adonai asitah

28יְקַֽלְלוּ־הֵמָּה וְאַתָּה תְבָרֵךְ קָמוּ וַיֵּבֹשׁוּ וְֽעַבְדְּךָ יִשְׂמָֽחLet them curse, but You bless; let them rise up, but come to grief, while Your servant rejoices.Yekallu-hemah veatah tevarech kamu vayevoshu veavdcha yismach

29יִלְבְּשׁוּ שׂוֹטְנַי כְּלִמָּה וְיַעֲטוּ כַמְעִיל בׇּשְׁתָּֽםMy accusers shall be clothed in shame, wrapped in their disgrace as in a robe.Yilbshu sotnay kelimah veyaatu chamil boshtam

30אוֹדֶה יְהֹוָה מְאֹד בְּפִי וּבְתוֹךְ רַבִּים אֲהַלְלֶֽנּוּMy mouth shall sing much praise to GOD; I will acclaim in the midst of a throng,Odeh Adonai meod befi uvtoch rabim ahallenu

31כִּֽי־יַעֲמֹד לִימִין אֶבְיוֹן לְהוֹשִׁיעַ מִשֹּׁפְטֵי נַפְשֽׁוֹbecause [God] stands at the right hand of the needy, to save them from those who would condemn them.Ki-yaamod limin evyon lehoshia mishoftey nafsho

3עַמְּךָ נְדָבֹת בְּיוֹם חֵילֶךָ בְּֽהַדְרֵי־קֹדֶשׁ מֵרֶחֶם מִשְׁחָר לְךָ טַל יַלְדֻתֶֽיךָYour people come forward willingly on your day of battle. In majestic holiness, from the womb, from the dawn, yours was the dew of youth.Amcha nedavot beyom cheylecha behadrey-kodesh merechem mishchar lecha tal yalduteycha

4נִשְׁבַּע יְהֹוָה וְלֹא יִנָּחֵם אַתָּֽה־כֹהֵן לְעוֹלָם עַל־דִּבְרָתִי מַלְכִּי־צֶֽדֶקGOD has sworn and will not relent, “You are a priest forever, a rightful king by My decree.”Nishba Adonai velo yinachem atah-chohen leolam al-divrati malki-tzedek

5אֲדֹנָי עַל־יְמִֽינְךָ מָחַץ בְּיוֹם־אַפּוֹ מְלָכִֽיםMy Sovereign is at your right hand— crushing kings in the day of divine anger.Adonay al-yemincha machatz beyom-apo melachim

6יָדִין בַּגּוֹיִם מָלֵא גְוִיּוֹת מָחַץ רֹאשׁ עַל־אֶרֶץ רַבָּֽה[God] works judgment upon the nations, heaping up bodies, crushing heads far and wide.Yadin bagoyim male geviot machatz rosh al-eretz rabah

1הַלְלוּ־יָהּ אוֹדֶה יְהֹוָה בְּכׇל־לֵבָב בְּסוֹד יְשָׁרִים וְעֵדָֽהHallelujah. אI praise GOD with all my heart בin the assembled congregation of the upright.Hallu-yah odeh Adonai bechol-levav besod yesharim veedah

2גְּדֹלִים מַעֲשֵׂי יְהֹוָה דְּרוּשִׁים לְכׇל־חֶפְצֵיהֶֽםגGOD’s works are great, דwithin reach of all who desire them.Gedolim maasey Adonai derushim lechol-cheftzeyhem

3הוֹד־וְהָדָר פׇּעֳלוֹ וְצִדְקָתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַֽדהSplendid and glorious are God’s deeds; וGod’s beneficence is everlasting;Hod-vehadar poolo vetzidkato omedet laad

4זֵכֶר עָשָׂה לְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם יְהֹוָֽהזrenowned are God’s wonders. חGOD is gracious and compassionate—Zecher asah leniflotayv chanun verachum yehovah

5טֶרֶף נָתַן לִירֵאָיו יִזְכֹּר לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתֽוֹטgiving food to those who show reverence, יand ever mindful of the covenant—Teref natan lireayv yizkor leolam berito

6כֹּחַ מַעֲשָׂיו הִגִּיד לְעַמּוֹ לָתֵת לָהֶם נַחֲלַת גּוֹיִֽםכrevealing powerful works to this people, לand giving them the heritage of nations.Kocha maasayv higid leamo latet lahem nachalat goyim

7מַעֲשֵׂי יָדָיו אֱמֶת וּמִשְׁפָּט נֶאֱמָנִים כׇּל־פִּקּוּדָֽיומTruth and justice are God’s handiwork— נwhose precepts are enduring,Maasey yadayv emet umishpat neemanim kol-pikudayv

8סְמוּכִים לָעַד לְעוֹלָם עֲשׂוּיִם בֶּאֱמֶת וְיָשָֽׁרסwell-founded for all eternity, עעwrought of truth and equity.Semuchim laad leolam asuyim beemet veyashar

9פְּדוּת שָׁלַח לְעַמּוֹ צִוָּֽה־לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתוֹ קָדוֹשׁ וְנוֹרָא שְׁמֽוֹפRedeeming this people, צ[God] ordained the covenant for all time; קholy and awesome is God’s name.Pedut shalach leamo tzivah-leolam berito kadosh venora shemo

10רֵאשִׁית חׇכְמָה יִרְאַת יְהֹוָה שֵׂכֶל טוֹב לְכׇל־עֹֽשֵׂיהֶם תְּהִלָּתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַֽדרThe beginning of wisdom is reverence toward GOD; שall who practice it gain sound understanding. תPraise of [God] is everlasting.Reshit chochmah yirat Adonai sechel tov lechol-oseyhem tehilato omedet laad

1הַלְלוּ־יָהּ אַשְׁרֵי־אִישׁ יָרֵא אֶת־יְהֹוָה בְּמִצְוֺתָיו חָפֵץ מְאֹֽדHallelujah. א Happy are those who fear GOD, who are ardently devoted to God’s commandments.Hallu-yah ashrey-ish yare et-Adonai bemitzotayv chafetz meod

2גִּבּוֹר בָּאָרֶץ יִהְיֶה זַרְעוֹ דּוֹר יְשָׁרִים יְבֹרָֽךְג Their descendants will be mighty in the land, ד a blessed generation of the upright.Gibor baaretz yihyeh zaro dor yesharim yevorach

3הוֹן־וָעֹשֶׁר בְּבֵיתוֹ וְצִדְקָתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַֽדה Wealth and riches are in their house, ו and their beneficence lasts forever.Hon-vaosher beveyto vetzidkato omedet laad

4זָרַח בַּחֹשֶׁךְ אוֹר לַיְשָׁרִים חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם וְצַדִּֽיקז A light shines for the upright in the darkness; gracious, compassionate, and beneficent.Zarach bachoshech or laysharim chanun verachum vetzadik

5טֽוֹב־אִישׁ חוֹנֵן וּמַלְוֶה יְכַלְכֵּל דְּבָרָיו בְּמִשְׁפָּֽטח ט All goes well with those who lend generously, יwho conduct affairs with equity.Tov-ish chonen umalveh yechalkel devarayv bemishpat

6כִּֽי־לְעוֹלָם לֹֽא־יִמּוֹט לְזֵכֶר עוֹלָם יִהְיֶה צַדִּֽיקכ They shall never be shaken; לthe beneficent will be remembered forever.Ki-leolam lo-yimot lezecher olam yihyeh tzadik

7מִשְּׁמוּעָה רָעָה לֹא יִירָא נָכוֹן לִבּוֹ בָּטֻחַ בַּיהֹוָֽהמ They are not afraid of evil tidings; נtheir heart is firm, they trust in GOD.Mishmuah raah lo yira nachon libo batucha bayhovah

8סָמוּךְ לִבּוֹ לֹא יִירָא עַד אֲשֶׁר־יִרְאֶה בְצָרָֽיוס Their heart is resolute, they are unafraid; עin the end they will see the fall of their foes.Samuch libo lo yira ad asher-yireh vetzarayv

9פִּזַּר נָתַן לָאֶבְיוֹנִים צִדְקָתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַד קַרְנוֹ תָּרוּם בְּכָבֽוֹדפ They give freely to the poor; צtheir beneficence lasts forever; קtheir horn is exalted in honor.Pizar natan laevyonim tzidkato omedet laad karno tarum bechavod

10רָשָׁע יִרְאֶה וְכָעָס שִׁנָּיו יַחֲרֹק וְנָמָס תַּאֲוַת רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבֵֽדר The wicked shall see it and be vexed; שthey shall gnash their teeth; their courage shall fail. תThe desire of the wicked shall come to nothing.Rasha yireh vechaas shinayv yacharok venamas taavat reshaim toved
