2שִׁמְעוּ־זֹאת כׇּל־הָעַמִּים הַאֲזִינוּ כׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵי חָֽלֶדHear this, all you peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world,Shimu-zot kol-haamim haazinu kol-yoshvey chaled

3גַּם־בְּנֵי אָדָם גַּם־בְּנֵי־אִישׁ יַחַד עָשִׁיר וְאֶבְיֽוֹןboth low and high, rich and poor alike.Gam-beney adam gam-beney-ish yachad ashir veevyon

4פִּי יְדַבֵּר חׇכְמוֹת וְהָגוּת לִבִּי תְבוּנֽוֹתMy mouth utters wisdom, my speech is full of insight.Pi yedaber chochmot vehagut libi tevunot

5אַטֶּה לְמָשָׁל אׇזְנִי אֶפְתַּח בְּכִנּוֹר חִידָתִֽיI will turn my attention to a theme, set forth my lesson to the music of a lyre.Ateh lemashal ozni eftach bechinor chidati

6לָמָּה אִירָא בִּימֵי רָע עֲוֺן עֲקֵבַי יְסוּבֵּֽנִיIn time of trouble, why should I fear the encompassing evil of those who would supplant me—Lamah ira bimey ra aon akevay yesubeni

7הַבֹּטְחִים עַל־חֵילָם וּבְרֹב עׇשְׁרָם יִתְהַלָּֽלוּthose who trust in their riches, who glory in their great wealth?Habotchim al-cheylam uvrov oshram yithalalu

8אָח לֹא־פָדֹה יִפְדֶּה אִישׁ לֹא־יִתֵּן לֵאלֹהִים כׇּפְרֽוֹAh, it cannot redeem anyone, or pay one’s ransom to God;Ach lo-fado yifdeh ish lo-yiten lelohim kofro

9וְיֵקַר פִּדְיוֹן נַפְשָׁם וְחָדַל לְעוֹלָֽםthe price of life is too high; and so one ceases to be, forever.Veyekar pidyon nafsham vechadal leolam

10וִיחִי־עוֹד לָנֶצַח לֹא יִרְאֶה הַשָּֽׁחַתShall anyone live eternally, and never see the grave?Vichi-od lanetzach lo yireh hashachat

11כִּי יִרְאֶה חֲכָמִים יָמוּתוּ יַחַד כְּסִיל וָבַעַר יֹאבֵדוּ וְעָזְבוּ לַאֲחֵרִים חֵילָֽםFor one sees that the wise die, that the foolish and ignorant both perish, leaving their wealth to others.Ki yireh chachamim yamutu yachad kesil vavaar yovedu veazvu laacherim cheylam

12קִרְבָּם בָּתֵּימוֹ לְֽעוֹלָם מִשְׁכְּנֹתָם לְדוֹר וָדֹר קָרְאוּ בִשְׁמוֹתָם עֲלֵי אֲדָמֽוֹתTheir grave is their eternal home, the dwelling-place for all generations of those once famous on earth.Kirbam bateymo leolam mishknotam ledor vador karu vishmotam aley adamot

13וְאָדָם בִּיקָר בַּל־יָלִין נִמְשַׁל כַּבְּהֵמוֹת נִדְמֽוּMortals do not abide in honor; they are like the beasts that perish.Veadam bikar bal-yalin nimshal kabhemot nidmu

14זֶה דַרְכָּם כֵּסֶל לָמוֹ וְאַחֲרֵיהֶם בְּפִיהֶם יִרְצוּ סֶֽלָהSuch is the fate of those who are self-confident, the end of those pleased with their own talk. Selah.Zeh darkam kesel lamo veachareyhem befihem yirtzu selah

15כַּצֹּאן לִשְׁאוֹל שַׁתּוּ מָוֶת יִרְעֵם וַיִּרְדּוּ־בָם יְשָׁרִים לַבֹּקֶר (וצירם) [וְצוּרָם] לְבַלּוֹת שְׁאוֹל מִזְּבֻל לֽוֹSheeplike they head for Sheol, with Death as their shepherd. 16אַךְ־אֱלֹהִים יִפְדֶּה נַפְשִׁי מִֽיַּד־שְׁאוֹל כִּי יִקָּחֵנִי סֶֽלָהBut God will redeem my life from the clutches of Sheol, by taking me. Selah.Ach-elohim yifdeh nafshi miyad-sheol ki yikacheni selah

17אַל־תִּירָא כִּֽי־יַעֲשִׁר אִישׁ כִּי־יִרְבֶּה כְּבוֹד בֵּיתֽוֹDo not be afraid when someone else becomes rich, when their household goods increase;Al-tira ki-yaashir ish ki-yirbeh kevod beyto

18כִּי לֹא בְמוֹתוֹ יִקַּח הַכֹּל לֹֽא־יֵרֵד אַחֲרָיו כְּבוֹדֽוֹfor when they die they can take none of it along; their goods cannot follow them down.Ki lo vemoto yikach hakol lo-yered acharayv kevodo

19כִּֽי־נַפְשׁוֹ בְּחַיָּיו יְבָרֵךְ וְיוֹדֻךָ כִּי־תֵיטִיב לָֽךְThough they congratulate themselves in their lifetime —“All must admit that you did well by yourself”—Ki-nafsho bechayayv yevarech veyoducha ki-teytiv lach

20תָּבוֹא עַד־דּוֹר אֲבוֹתָיו עַד־נֵצַח לֹא יִרְאוּ־אֽוֹרyet they must join the company of their ancestors, who will never see daylight again.Tavo ad-dor avotayv ad-netzach lo yiru-or

21אָדָם בִּיקָר וְלֹא יָבִין נִמְשַׁל כַּבְּהֵמוֹת נִדְמֽוּMortals do not understand honor; they are like the beasts that perish.Adam bikar velo yavin nimshal kabhemot nidmu

1מִזְמוֹר לְאָסָף אֵל אֱֽלֹהִים יְֽהֹוָה דִּבֶּר וַיִּקְרָא־אָרֶץ מִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁמֶשׁ עַד־מְבֹאֽוֹA psalm of Asaph. God, the ETERNAL God, spoke and summoned the world from east to west.Mizmor leasaf el elohim yehovah diber vayikra-aretz mimizrach-shemesh ad-mevoo

2מִצִּיּוֹן מִכְלַל־יֹפִי אֱלֹהִים הוֹפִֽיעַFrom Zion, perfect in beauty, God appearedMitzion michlal-yofi elohim hofia

3יָבֹא אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְֽאַל־יֶחֱרַשׁ אֵשׁ־לְפָנָיו תֹּאכֵל וּסְבִיבָיו נִשְׂעֲרָה מְאֹֽד—let our God come and not fail to act! [God] was preceded by devouring fire, with a fierce storm all around.Yavo eloheynu veal-yecherash esh-lefanayv tochel usvivayv nisarah meod

4יִקְרָא אֶל־הַשָּׁמַיִם מֵעָל וְאֶל־הָאָרֶץ לָדִין עַמּֽוֹThe heavens above were summoned, and the earth, for the trial of God’s people.Yikra el-hashamayim meal veel-haaretz ladin amo

5אִסְפוּ־לִי חֲסִידָי כֹּרְתֵי בְרִיתִי עֲלֵי־זָֽבַח“Bring in My devotees, who made a covenant with Me over sacrifice!”Isfu-li chasiday kortey veriti aley-zavach

6וַיַּגִּידוּ שָׁמַיִם צִדְקוֹ כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים שֹׁפֵט הוּא סֶֽלָהThen the heavens proclaimed God’s righteousness, for this is a God who judges. Selah.Vayagidu shamayim tzidko ki-elohim shofet hu selah

7שִׁמְעָה עַמִּי וַאֲדַבֵּרָה יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָעִידָה בָּךְ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֶיךָ אָנֹֽכִי“Pay heed, My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will arraign you. I am God, your God.Shimah ami vaadaberah yisrael veaidah bach elohim eloheycha anochi

8לֹא עַל־זְבָחֶיךָ אוֹכִיחֶךָ וְעוֹלֹתֶיךָ לְנֶגְדִּי תָמִֽידI censure you not for your sacrifices, and your burnt offerings, made to Me daily;Lo al-zevacheycha ochichecha veoloteycha lenegdi tamid

9לֹא־אֶקַּח מִבֵּיתְךָ פָר מִמִּכְלְאֹתֶיךָ עַתּוּדִֽיםI claim no bull from your estate, no he-goats from your pens.Lo-ekach mibeytcha far mimichloteycha atudim

10כִּי־לִי כׇל־חַיְתוֹ־יָעַר בְּהֵמוֹת בְּהַרְרֵי־אָֽלֶףFor Mine is every animal of the forest, the beasts on a thousand mountains.Ki-li chol-chayto-yaar behemot beharrey-alef

11יָדַעְתִּי כׇּל־עוֹף הָרִים וְזִיז שָׂדַי עִמָּדִֽיI know every bird of the mountains, the creatures of the field are subject to Me.Yadati kol-of harim veziz saday imadi

12אִם־אֶרְעַב לֹא־אֹמַר לָךְ כִּי־לִי תֵבֵל וּמְלֹאָֽהּWere I hungry, I would not tell you, for Mine is the world and all it holds.Im-erav lo-omar lach ki-li tevel umloah

13הַאוֹכַל בְּשַׂר אַבִּירִים וְדַם עַתּוּדִים אֶשְׁתֶּֽהDo I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of he-goats?Haochal besar abirim vedam atudim eshteh

14זְבַח לֵאלֹהִים תּוֹדָה וְשַׁלֵּם לְעֶלְיוֹן נְדָרֶֽיךָSacrifice a thank offering to God, and pay your vows to the Most High.Zevach lelohim todah veshalem leelyon nedareycha

15וּקְרָאֵנִי בְּיוֹם צָרָה אֲחַלֶּצְךָ וּֽתְכַבְּדֵֽנִיCall upon Me in time of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall honor Me.”Ukraeni beyom tzarah achaletzcha utchabdeni

16וְלָרָשָׁע אָמַר אֱלֹהִים מַה־לְּךָ לְסַפֵּר חֻקָּי וַתִּשָּׂא בְרִיתִי עֲלֵי־פִֽיךָAnd to the wicked, God said: “Who are you to recite My laws, and mouth the terms of My covenant,Velarasha amar elohim mah-lecha lesaper chukay vatisa veriti aley-ficha

17וְאַתָּה שָׂנֵאתָ מוּסָר וַתַּשְׁלֵךְ דְּבָרַי אַחֲרֶֽיךָseeing that you spurn My discipline, and brush My words aside?Veatah saneta musar vatashlech devaray achareycha

18אִם־רָאִיתָ גַנָּב וַתִּרֶץ עִמּוֹ וְעִם מְנָאֲפִים חֶלְקֶֽךָYou fall in with a thief when you see one, and throw in your lot with adulterers;Im-raita ganav vatiretz imo veim menaafim chelkecha

19פִּיךָ שָׁלַחְתָּ בְרָעָה וּלְשׁוֹנְךָ תַּצְמִיד מִרְמָֽהyou devote your mouth to evil, and yoke your tongue to deceit;Picha shalachta veraah ulshoncha tatzmid mirmah

20תֵּשֵׁב בְּאָחִיךָ תְדַבֵּר בְּבֶֽן־אִמְּךָ תִּתֶּן־דֹּֽפִיyou are busy maligning your kin, defaming the child of your mother.Teshev beachicha tedaber beven-imcha titen-dofi

21אֵלֶּה עָשִׂיתָ וְֽהֶחֱרַשְׁתִּי דִּמִּיתָ הֱיֽוֹת־אֶהְיֶה כָמוֹךָ אוֹכִיחֲךָ וְאֶעֶרְכָה לְעֵינֶֽיךָIf I failed to act when you did these things, you would fancy that I was like you; so I censure you and confront you with charges.Eleh asita vehecherashti dimita heyot-ehyeh chamocha ochichacha veeerchah leeyneycha

22בִּינוּ־נָא זֹאת שֹׁכְחֵי אֱלוֹהַּ פֶּן־אֶטְרֹף וְאֵין מַצִּֽילMark this, you who are unmindful of God, lest I tear you apart and no one save you.Binu-na zot shochchey eloha pen-etrof veeyn matzil

23זֹבֵחַ תּוֹדָה יְֽכַבְּדָנְנִי וְשָׂם דֶּרֶךְ אַרְאֶנּוּ בְּיֵשַׁע אֱלֹהִֽיםWhoever sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and to one who sets out on the proper way I will show the salvation of God.”Zovecha todah yechabdanni vesam derech arenu beyesha elohim

2בְּֽבוֹא־אֵלָיו נָתָן הַנָּבִיא כַּאֲשֶׁר־בָּא אֶל־בַּת־שָֽׁבַעwhen Nathan the prophet came to him after he had come to Bathsheba.Bevo-elayv natan hanavi kaasher-ba el-bat-shava

3חׇנֵּנִי אֱלֹהִים כְּחַסְדֶּךָ כְּרֹב רַחֲמֶיךָ מְחֵה פְשָׁעָֽיHave mercy upon me, O God, as befits Your faithfulness; in keeping with Your abundant compassion, blot out my transgressions.Choneni elohim kechasdecha kerov rachameycha mecheh feshaay

5כִּֽי־פְשָׁעַי אֲנִי אֵדָע וְחַטָּאתִי נֶגְדִּי תָמִֽידfor I recognize my transgressions, and am ever conscious of my sin.Ki-feshaay ani eda vechatati negdi tamid

6לְךָ לְבַדְּךָ חָטָאתִי וְהָרַע בְּעֵינֶיךָ עָשִׂיתִי לְמַעַן תִּצְדַּק בְּדׇבְרֶךָ תִּזְכֶּה בְשׇׁפְטֶֽךָAgainst You alone have I sinned, and done what is evil in Your sight; so You are just in Your sentence, and right in Your judgment.Lecha levadcha chatati vehara beeyneycha asiti lemaan titzdak bedovrecha tizkeh veshoftecha

7הֵן־בְּעָווֹן חוֹלָלְתִּי וּבְחֵטְא יֶחֱמַתְנִי אִמִּֽיIndeed I was born with iniquity; with sin my mother conceived me.Hen-beavon cholalti uvchet yechematni imi

8הֵן־אֱמֶת חָפַצְתָּ בַטֻּחוֹת וּבְסָתֻם חׇכְמָה תוֹדִיעֵֽנִיIndeed You desire truth about that which is hidden; teach me wisdom about secret things.Hen-emet chafatzta vatuchot uvsatum chochmah todieni

9תְּחַטְּאֵנִי בְאֵזוֹב וְאֶטְהָר תְּכַבְּסֵנִי וּמִשֶּׁלֶג אַלְבִּֽיןPurge me with hyssop till I am pure; wash me till I am whiter than snow.Techateni veezov veethar techabseni umisheleg albin

10תַּשְׁמִיעֵנִי שָׂשׂוֹן וְשִׂמְחָה תָּגֵלְנָה עֲצָמוֹת דִּכִּֽיתָLet me hear tidings of joy and gladness; let the bones You have crushed exult.Tashmieni sason vesimchah tagelnah atzamot dikita

11הַסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מֵחֲטָאָי וְֽכׇל־עֲוֺנֹתַי מְחֵֽהHide Your face from my sins; blot out all my iniquities.Haster paneycha mechataay vechol-aonotay mecheh

12לֵב טָהוֹר בְּרָא־לִי אֱלֹהִים וְרוּחַ נָכוֹן חַדֵּשׁ בְּקִרְבִּֽיFashion a pure heart for me, O God; create in me a steadfast spirit.Lev tahor bera-li elohim verucha nachon chadesh bekirbi

13אַל־תַּשְׁלִיכֵנִי מִלְּפָנֶיךָ וְרוּחַ קׇדְשְׁךָ אַל־תִּקַּח מִמֶּֽנִּיDo not cast me out of Your presence, or take Your holy spirit away from me.Al-tashlicheni milfaneycha verucha kodshcha al-tikach mimeni

14הָשִׁיבָה לִּי שְׂשׂוֹן יִשְׁעֶךָ וְרוּחַ נְדִיבָה תִסְמְכֵֽנִיLet me again rejoice in Your help; let a vigorous spirit sustain me.Hashivah li seson yishecha verucha nedivah tismcheni

15אֲלַמְּדָה פֹשְׁעִים דְּרָכֶיךָ וְחַטָּאִים אֵלֶיךָ יָשֽׁוּבוּI will teach transgressors Your ways, that sinners may return to You.Alamdah foshim deracheycha vechataim eleycha yashuvu

16הַצִּילֵנִי מִדָּמִים אֱֽלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵי תְשׁוּעָתִי תְּרַנֵּן לְשׁוֹנִי צִדְקָתֶֽךָSave me from bloodguilt, O God, God, my deliverer, that I may sing forth Your beneficence.Hatzileni midamim elohim elohey teshuati teranen leshoni tzidkatecha

17אֲדֹנָי שְׂפָתַי תִּפְתָּח וּפִי יַגִּיד תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָO my Sovereign, open my lips, and let my mouth declare Your praise.Adonay sefatay tiftach ufi yagid tehilatecha

18כִּי לֹא־תַחְפֹּץ זֶבַח וְאֶתֵּנָה עוֹלָה לֹא תִרְצֶֽהYou do not want me to bring sacrifices; You do not desire burnt offerings;Ki lo-tachpotz zevach veetenah olah lo tirtzeh

19זִבְחֵי אֱלֹהִים רוּחַ נִשְׁבָּרָה לֵב־נִשְׁבָּר וְנִדְכֶּה אֱלֹהִים לֹא תִבְזֶֽהTrue sacrifice to God is a contrite spirit; God, You will not despise a contrite and crushed heart.Zivchey elohim rucha nishbarah lev-nishbar venidkeh elohim lo tivzeh

20הֵיטִיבָה בִרְצוֹנְךָ אֶת־צִיּוֹן תִּבְנֶה חוֹמוֹת יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִםMay it please You to make Zion prosper; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.Heytivah virtzoncha et-tzion tivneh chomot yerushalam

21אָז תַּחְפֹּץ זִבְחֵי־צֶדֶק עוֹלָה וְכָלִיל אָז יַעֲלוּ עַל־מִזְבַּחֲךָ פָרִֽיםThen You will want sacrifices offered in righteousness, burnt and whole offerings; then bulls will be offered on Your altar.Az tachpotz zivchey-tzedek olah vechalil az yaalu al-mizbachacha farim

2בְּבוֹא דּוֹאֵג הָאֲדֹמִי וַיַּגֵּד לְשָׁאוּל וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ בָּא דָוִד אֶל־בֵּית אֲחִימֶֽלֶךְwhen Doeg the Edomite came and informed Saul, telling him, “David came to Ahimelech’s house.”Bevo doeg haadomi vayaged leshaul vayomer lo ba david el-beyt achimelech

3מַה־תִּתְהַלֵּל בְּרָעָה הַגִּבּוֹר חֶסֶד אֵל כׇּל־הַיּֽוֹםWhy do you boast of your evil, brave fellow? God’s faithfulness never ceases.Mah-tithalel beraah hagibor chesed el kol-hayom

4הַוּוֹת תַּחְשֹׁב לְשׁוֹנֶךָ כְּתַעַר מְלֻטָּשׁ עֹשֵׂה רְמִיָּֽהYour tongue devises mischief, like a sharpened razor that works treacherously.Hauot tachshov leshonecha ketaar melutash oseh remiyah

5אָהַבְתָּ רָּע מִטּוֹב שֶׁקֶר מִדַּבֵּר צֶדֶק סֶֽלָהYou prefer evil to good, the lie, to speaking truthfully. Selah.Ahavta ra mitov sheker midaber tzedek selah

6אָהַבְתָּ כׇֽל־דִּבְרֵי־בָלַע לְשׁוֹן מִרְמָֽהYou love all pernicious words, treacherous speech.Ahavta chol-divrey-vala leshon mirmah

7גַּם־אֵל יִתׇּצְךָ לָנֶצַח יַחְתְּךָ וְיִסָּחֲךָ מֵאֹהֶל וְשֵׁרֶשְׁךָ מֵאֶרֶץ חַיִּים סֶֽלָהSo God will tear you down for good, will break you and pluck you from your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. 8וְיִרְאוּ צַדִּיקִים וְיִירָאוּ וְעָלָיו יִשְׂחָֽקוּThe righteous, seeing it, will be awestruck; they will jibe at you, saying,Veyiru tzadikim veyirau vealayv yischaku

9הִנֵּה הַגֶּבֶר לֹא יָשִׂים אֱלֹהִים מָעוּזּוֹ וַיִּבְטַח בְּרֹב עׇשְׁרוֹ יָעֹז בְּהַוָּתֽוֹ“Here was a fellow who did not make God his refuge, but trusted in his great wealth, relied upon his mischief.”Hineh hagever lo yasim elohim mauzo vayivtach berov oshro yaoz behavato

10וַאֲנִי כְּזַיִת רַעֲנָן בְּבֵית אֱלֹהִים בָּטַחְתִּי בְחֶסֶד־אֱלֹהִים עוֹלָם וָעֶֽדBut I am like a thriving olive tree in God’s house; I trust in the faithfulness of God forever and ever.Vaani kezayit raanan beveyt elohim batachti vechesed-elohim olam vaed

11אוֹדְךָ לְעוֹלָם כִּי עָשִׂיתָ וַאֲקַוֶּה שִׁמְךָ כִי־טוֹב נֶגֶד חֲסִידֶֽיךָI praise You forever, for You have acted; I declare that Your name is good in the presence of Your faithful ones.Odcha leolam ki asita vaakaveh shimcha chi-tov neged chasideycha

2אָמַר נָבָל בְּלִבּוֹ אֵין אֱלֹהִים הִֽשְׁחִיתוּ וְהִֽתְעִיבוּ עָוֶל אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טֽוֹבThe scoundrel thinks, “God does not care.” Mortals’ wrongdoing is corrupt and loathsome; no one does good.Amar naval belibo eyn elohim hishchitu vehitivu avel eyn oseh-tov

3אֱֽלֹהִים מִשָּׁמַיִם הִשְׁקִיף עַֽל־בְּנֵי־אָדָם לִרְאוֹת הֲיֵשׁ מַשְׂכִּיל דֹּרֵשׁ אֶת־אֱלֹהִֽיםGod looks down from heaven on humankind to find someone with understanding, someone mindful of God.Elohim mishamayim hishkif al-beney-adam lirot hayesh maskil doresh et-elohim

4כֻּלּוֹ סָג יַחְדָּו נֶאֱלָחוּ אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טוֹב אֵין גַּם־אֶחָֽדEveryone is dross, altogether foul; there is no one who does good, not even one.Kulo sag yachdav neelachu eyn oseh-tov eyn gam-echad
