Chapter 104

1בָּרְכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהֹוָה יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהַי גָּדַלְתָּ מְּאֹד הוֹד וְהָדָר לָבָֽשְׁתָּBless the ETERNAL One, O my soul; O ETERNAL One, my God, You are very great; You are clothed in glory and majesty,Barchi nafshi et-Adonai Adonai elohay gadalta meod hod vehadar lavashta

2עֹֽטֶה־אוֹר כַּשַּׂלְמָה נוֹטֶה שָׁמַיִם כַּיְרִיעָֽהwrapped in a robe of light; You spread the heavens like a tent cloth.Oteh-or kasalmah noteh shamayim kayriah

3הַמְקָרֶה בַמַּיִם עֲֽלִיּוֹתָיו הַשָּׂם־עָבִים רְכוּבוֹ הַֽמְהַלֵּךְ עַל־כַּנְפֵי־רֽוּחַYou set the rafters of the heavenly lofts in the waters— making the clouds a chariot, moving on the wings of the wind.Hamkareh vamayim aliotayv hasam-avim rechuvo hamhalech al-kanfey-rucha

4עֹשֶׂה מַלְאָכָיו רוּחוֹת מְשָׁרְתָיו אֵשׁ לֹהֵֽטYou make messengers of the winds, servants of fiery flames.Oseh malachayv ruchot meshartayv esh lohet

5יָֽסַד־אֶרֶץ עַל־מְכוֹנֶיהָ בַּל־תִּמּוֹט עוֹלָם וָעֶֽדYou established the earth on its foundations, so that it shall never totter.Yasad-eretz al-mechoney bal-timot olam vaed

6תְּהוֹם כַּלְּבוּשׁ כִּסִּיתוֹ עַל־הָרִים יַעַמְדוּ־מָֽיִםYou made the deep cover it as a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.Tehom kalvush kisito al-harim yaamdu-mayim

7מִן־גַּעֲרָתְךָ יְנוּסוּן מִן־קוֹל רַעַמְךָ יֵחָפֵזֽוּןThey fled at Your blast, rushed away at the sound of Your thunder—Min-gaaratcha yenusun min-kol raamcha yechafezun

8יַעֲלוּ הָרִים יֵרְדוּ בְקָעוֹת אֶל־מְקוֹם זֶה יָסַדְתָּ לָהֶֽםmountains rising, valleys sinking— to the place You established for them.Yaalu harim yerdu vekaot el-mekom zeh yasadta lahem

9גְּֽבוּל־שַׂמְתָּ בַּל־יַעֲבֹרוּן בַּל־יְשֻׁבוּן לְכַסּוֹת הָאָֽרֶץYou set bounds they must not pass so that they never again cover the earth.Gevul-samta bal-yaavorun bal-yeshuvun lechasot haaretz

10הַֽמְשַׁלֵּחַ מַעְיָנִים בַּנְּחָלִים בֵּין הָרִים יְהַלֵּכֽוּןYou make springs gush forth in torrents; they make their way between the hills,Hamshalecha mayanim banchalim beyn harim yehalechun

11יַשְׁקוּ כׇּל־חַיְתוֹ שָׂדָי יִשְׁבְּרוּ פְרָאִים צְמָאָֽםgiving drink to all the wild beasts; the wild asses slake their thirst.Yashku kol-chayto saday yishbru feraim tzemaam

12עֲלֵיהֶם עוֹף־הַשָּׁמַיִם יִשְׁכּוֹן מִבֵּין עֳפָאיִם יִתְּנוּ־קֽוֹלThe birds of the sky dwell beside them and sing among the foliage.Aleyhem of-hashamayim yishkon mibeyn ofayim yitnu-kol

13מַשְׁקֶה הָרִים מֵעֲלִיּוֹתָיו מִפְּרִי מַעֲשֶׂיךָ תִּשְׂבַּע הָאָֽרֶץYou water the mountains from Your lofts; the earth is sated from the fruit of Your work.Mashkeh harim mealiotayv mipri maaseycha tisba haaretz

14מַצְמִיחַ חָצִיר לַבְּהֵמָה וְעֵשֶׂב לַעֲבֹדַת הָאָדָם לְהוֹצִיא לֶחֶם מִן־הָאָֽרֶץYou make the grass grow for the cattle, and herbage for humans’ labor that they may get food out of the earth—Matzmicha chatzir labhemah veesev laavodat haadam lehotzi lechem min-haaretz

15וְיַיִן יְשַׂמַּח לְֽבַב־אֱנוֹשׁ לְהַצְהִיל פָּנִים מִשָּׁמֶן וְלֶחֶם לְֽבַב־אֱנוֹשׁ יִסְעָֽדwine that cheers human hearts, oil that makes the face shine, and bread that sustains human life.Veyayin yesamach levav-enosh lehatzhil panim mishamen velechem levav-enosh yisad

16יִשְׂבְּעוּ עֲצֵי יְהֹוָה אַֽרְזֵי לְבָנוֹן אֲשֶׁר נָטָֽעThe trees of the ETERNAL drink their fill, the cedars of Lebanon, God’s own planting,Yisbu atzey Adonai arzey levanon asher nata

17אֲשֶׁר־שָׁם צִפֳּרִים יְקַנֵּנוּ חֲסִידָה בְּרוֹשִׁים בֵּיתָֽהּwhere birds make their nests; the stork has her home in the junipers.Asher-sham tziporim yekanenu chasidah beroshim beytah

18הָרִים הַגְּבֹהִים לַיְּעֵלִים סְלָעִים מַחְסֶה לַֽשְׁפַנִּֽיםThe high mountains are for wild goats; the crags are a refuge for rock-badgers.Harim hagvohim layelim selaim machseh lashfanim

19עָשָׂה יָרֵחַ לְמוֹעֲדִים שֶׁמֶשׁ יָדַע מְבוֹאֽוֹ[God] made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows when to set.Asah yarecha lemoadim shemesh yada mevoo

20תָּֽשֶׁת־חֹשֶׁךְ וִיהִי לָיְלָה בּוֹ־תִרְמֹשׂ כׇּל־חַיְתוֹ־יָֽעַרYou bring on darkness and it is night, when all the beasts of the forests stir.Tashet-choshech vihi laylah bo-tirmos kol-chayto-yaar

21הַכְּפִירִים שֹׁאֲגִים לַטָּרֶף וּלְבַקֵּשׁ מֵאֵל אׇכְלָֽםThe lions roar for prey, seeking their food from God.Hakfirim shoagim lataref ulvakesh meel ochlam

22תִּזְרַח הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יֵאָסֵפוּן וְאֶל־מְעוֹנֹתָם יִרְבָּצֽוּןWhen the sun rises, they come home and couch in their dens.Tizrach hashemesh yeasefun veel-meonotam yirbatzun

23יֵצֵא אָדָם לְפׇעֳלוֹ וְֽלַעֲבֹדָתוֹ עֲדֵי־עָֽרֶבPeople then go out to their work, to their labor until the evening.Yetze adam lefoolo velaavodato adey-arev

24מָה־רַבּוּ מַעֲשֶׂיךָ יְֽהֹוָה כֻּלָּם בְּחׇכְמָה עָשִׂיתָ מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ קִנְיָנֶֽךָHow many are the things You have made, O ETERNAL One; You have made them all with wisdom; the earth is full of Your creations.Mah-rabu maaseycha yehovah kulam bechochmah asita malah haaretz kinyanecha

25זֶה הַיָּם גָּדוֹל וּרְחַב יָדָיִם שָֽׁם־רֶמֶשׂ וְאֵין מִסְפָּר חַיּוֹת קְטַנּוֹת עִם־גְּדֹלֽוֹתThere is the sea, vast and wide, with its creatures beyond number, living things, small and great.Zeh hayam gadol urchav yadayim sham-remes veeyn mispar chayot ketanot im-gedolot

26שָׁם אֳנִיּוֹת יְהַלֵּכוּן לִוְיָתָן זֶֽה־יָצַרְתָּ לְשַֽׂחֶק־בּֽוֹThere go the ships, and Leviathan that You formed to sport with.Sham oniot yehalechun livyatan zeh-yatzarta lesachek-bo

27כֻּלָּם אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּן לָתֵת אׇכְלָם בְּעִתּֽוֹAll of them look to You to give them their food when it is due.Kulam eleycha yesaberun latet ochlam beito

28תִּתֵּן לָהֶם יִלְקֹטוּן תִּפְתַּח יָדְךָ יִשְׂבְּעוּן טֽוֹבGive it to them, they gather it up; open Your hand, they are well satisfied;Titen lahem yilkotun tiftach yadcha yisbun tov

29תַּסְתִּיר פָּנֶיךָ יִֽבָּהֵלוּן תֹּסֵף רוּחָם יִגְוָעוּן וְֽאֶל־עֲפָרָם יְשׁוּבֽוּןhide Your face, they are terrified; take away their breath, they perish and turn again into dust;Tastir paneycha yibahelun tosef rucham yigvaun veel-afaram yeshuvun

30תְּשַׁלַּח רוּחֲךָ יִבָּרֵאוּן וּתְחַדֵּשׁ פְּנֵי אֲדָמָֽהsend back Your breath, they are created, and You renew the face of the earth.Teshalach ruchacha yibareun utchadesh peney adamah

31יְהִי כְבוֹד יְהֹוָה לְעוֹלָם יִשְׂמַח יְהֹוָה בְּמַעֲשָֽׂיוMay GOD’s glory endure forever; may GOD rejoice in these works!Yehi chevod Adonai leolam yismach Adonai bemaasayv

32הַמַּבִּיט לָאָרֶץ וַתִּרְעָד יִגַּע בֶּהָרִים וְֽיֶעֱשָֽׁנוּ—The One who looks at the earth and it trembles, touches the mountains and they smoke.Hamabit laaretz vatirad yiga beharim veyeeshanu

33אָשִׁירָה לַיהֹוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהַי בְּעוֹדִֽיI will sing to the ETERNAL as long as I live; all my life I will chant hymns to my God.Ashirah layhovah bechayay azamrah lelohay beodi

34יֶעֱרַב עָלָיו שִׂיחִי אָנֹכִי אֶשְׂמַח בַּיהֹוָֽהMay my prayer be found pleasing; I will rejoice in GOD.Yeerav alayv sichi anochi esmach bayhovah

35יִתַּמּוּ חַטָּאִים מִן־הָאָרֶץ וּרְשָׁעִים עוֹד אֵינָם בָּרְכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהֹוָה הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּMay sinners disappear from the earth, and the wicked be no more. Bless Yah, O my soul. Hallelujah.Yitamu chataim min-haaretz urshaim od eynam barchi nafshi et-Adonai hallu-yah
