Numbers 4:21-7:89
1וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽרGOD spoke to Moses:
2נָשֹׂא אֶת־רֹאשׁ בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן גַּם־הֵם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽםTake a census of the Gershonites also, by their ancestral house and by their clans.
3מִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה עַד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה תִּפְקֹד אוֹתָם כׇּל־הַבָּא לִצְבֹא צָבָא לַעֲבֹד עֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדRecord them from the age of thirty years up to the age of fifty, all who are subject to service in the performance of tasks for the Tent of Meeting.
4זֹאת עֲבֹדַת מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי לַעֲבֹד וּלְמַשָּֽׂאThese are the duties of the Gershonite clans as to labor and porterage:
5וְנָשְׂאוּ אֶת־יְרִיעֹת הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְאֶת־אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד מִכְסֵהוּ וּמִכְסֵה הַתַּחַשׁ אֲשֶׁר־עָלָיו מִלְמָעְלָה וְאֶת־מָסַךְ פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדthey shall carry the cloths of the Tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting with its covering, the covering of dolphin skin that is on top of it, and the screen for the entrance of the Tent of Meeting;
6וְאֵת קַלְעֵי הֶֽחָצֵר וְאֶת־מָסַךְ פֶּתַח שַׁעַר הֶחָצֵר אֲשֶׁר עַל־הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ סָבִיב וְאֵת מֵֽיתְרֵיהֶם וְאֶֽת־כׇּל־כְּלֵי עֲבֹדָתָם וְאֵת כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר יֵעָשֶׂה לָהֶם וְעָבָֽדוּthe hangings of the enclosure, the screen at the entrance of the gate of the enclosure that surrounds the Tabernacle, the cords thereof, and the altar, and all their service equipment and all their accessories; and they shall perform the service.
7עַל־פִּי אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו תִּהְיֶה כׇּל־עֲבֹדַת בְּנֵי הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי לְכׇל־מַשָּׂאָם וּלְכֹל עֲבֹדָתָם וּפְקַדְתֶּם עֲלֵהֶם בְּמִשְׁמֶרֶת אֵת כׇּל־מַשָּׂאָֽםAll the duties of the Gershonites, all their porterage and all their service, shall be performed on orders from Aaron and his sons; you shall make them responsible for attending to all their porterage.
8זֹאת עֲבֹדַת מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וּמִשְׁמַרְתָּם בְּיַד אִֽיתָמָר בֶּֽן־אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵֽןThose are the duties of the Gershonite clans for the Tent of Meeting; they shall attend to them under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
9בְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְבֵית־אֲבֹתָם תִּפְקֹד אֹתָֽםAs for the Merarites, you shall record them by the clans of their ancestral house;
10מִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה תִּפְקְדֵם כׇּל־הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדַת אֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדyou shall record them from the age of thirty years up to the age of fifty, all who are subject to service in the performance of the duties for the Tent of Meeting.
11וְזֹאת מִשְׁמֶרֶת מַשָּׂאָם לְכׇל־עֲבֹדָתָם בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד קַרְשֵׁי הַמִּשְׁכָּן וּבְרִיחָיו וְעַמּוּדָיו וַאֲדָנָֽיוThese are their porterage tasks in connection with their various duties for the Tent of Meeting: the planks, the bars, the posts, and the sockets of the Tabernacle;
12וְעַמּוּדֵי הֶחָצֵר סָבִיב וְאַדְנֵיהֶם וִיתֵֽדֹתָם וּמֵיתְרֵיהֶם לְכׇל־כְּלֵיהֶם וּלְכֹל עֲבֹדָתָם וּבְשֵׁמֹת תִּפְקְדוּ אֶת־כְּלֵי מִשְׁמֶרֶת מַשָּׂאָֽםthe posts around the enclosure and their sockets, pegs, and cords—all these furnishings and their service: you shall list by name the objects that are their porterage tasks.
13זֹאת עֲבֹדַת מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְכׇל־עֲבֹדָתָם בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד בְּיַד אִֽיתָמָר בֶּֽן־אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵֽןThose are the duties of the Merarite clans, pertaining to their various duties in the Tent of Meeting under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
14וַיִּפְקֹד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וּנְשִׂיאֵי הָעֵדָה אֶת־בְּנֵי הַקְּהָתִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וּלְבֵית אֲבֹתָֽםSo Moses, Aaron, and the chieftains of the community recorded the Kohathites by the clans of their ancestral house,
15מִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כׇּל־הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדfrom the age of thirty years up to the age of fifty, all who were subject to service for work relating to the Tent of Meeting.
16וַיִּהְיוּ פְקֻדֵיהֶם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם אַלְפַּיִם שְׁבַע מֵאוֹת וַחֲמִשִּֽׁיםThose recorded by their clans came to 2,750.
17אֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַקְּהָתִי כׇּל־הָעֹבֵד בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל־פִּי יְהֹוָה בְּיַד־מֹשֶֽׁהThat was the enrollment of the Kohathite clans, all those who performed duties relating to the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron recorded at GOD’s command through Moses.
18וּפְקוּדֵי בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם וּלְבֵית אֲבֹתָֽםThe Gershonites who were recorded by the clans of their ancestral house,
19מִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כׇּל־הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדfrom the age of thirty years up to the age of fifty, all who were subject to service for work relating to the Tent of Meeting—
20וַיִּֽהְיוּ פְּקֻדֵיהֶם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם אַלְפַּיִם וְשֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת וּשְׁלֹשִֽׁיםthose recorded by the clans of their ancestral house came to 2,630.
21אֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן כׇּל־הָעֹבֵד בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל־פִּי יְהֹוָֽהThat was the enrollment of the Gershonite clans, all those performing duties relating to the Tent of Meeting whom Moses and Aaron recorded at GOD’s command.
22וּפְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָֽםThe enrollment of the Merarite clans by the clans of their ancestral house,
23מִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כׇּל־הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדfrom the age of thirty years up to the age of fifty, all who were subject to service for work relating to the Tent of Meeting—
24וַיִּהְיוּ פְקֻדֵיהֶם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם שְׁלֹשֶׁת אֲלָפִים וּמָאתָֽיִםthose recorded by their clans came to 3,200.
25אֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל־פִּי יְהֹוָה בְּיַד־מֹשֶֽׁהThat was the enrollment of the Merarite clans that Moses and Aaron recorded at GOD’s command through Moses.
26כׇּֽל־הַפְּקֻדִים אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וּנְשִׂיאֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וּלְבֵית אֲבֹתָֽםAll the Levites whom Moses, Aaron, and the chieftains of Israel recorded by the clans of their ancestral houses,
27מִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כׇּל־הַבָּא לַעֲבֹד עֲבֹדַת עֲבֹדָה וַעֲבֹדַת מַשָּׂא בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדfrom the age of thirty years up to the age of fifty, all who were subject to duties of service and porterage relating to the Tent of Meeting—
28וַיִּהְיוּ פְּקֻדֵיהֶם שְׁמֹנַת אֲלָפִים וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וּשְׁמֹנִֽיםthose recorded came to 8,580.
29עַל־פִּי יְהֹוָה פָּקַד אוֹתָם בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה אִישׁ אִישׁ עַל־עֲבֹדָתוֹ וְעַל־מַשָּׂאוֹ וּפְקֻדָיו אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהֹוָה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁהEach one, in turn, was given responsibility for his service and porterage at GOD’s command through Moses, and each was recorded as GOD had commanded Moses.
30וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽרGOD spoke to Moses, saying:
31צַו אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִֽישַׁלְּחוּ מִן־הַֽמַּחֲנֶה כׇּל־צָרוּעַ וְכׇל־זָב וְכֹל טָמֵא לָנָֽפֶשׁInstruct the Israelites to remove from camp anyone with an eruption or a discharge and anyone defiled by a corpse.
32מִזָּכָר עַד־נְקֵבָה תְּשַׁלֵּחוּ אֶל־מִחוּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶה תְּשַׁלְּחוּם וְלֹא יְטַמְּאוּ אֶת־מַחֲנֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי שֹׁכֵן בְּתוֹכָֽםRemove male and female alike; put them outside the camp so that they do not defile the camp of those in whose midst I dwell.
33וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵן בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיְשַׁלְּחוּ אוֹתָם אֶל־מִחוּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶה כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה כֵּן עָשׂוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽלThe Israelites did so, putting them outside the camp; as GOD had spoken to Moses, so the Israelites did.
34וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽרGOD spoke to Moses, saying:
35דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ אֽוֹ־אִשָּׁה כִּי יַעֲשׂוּ מִכׇּל־חַטֹּאת הָֽאָדָם לִמְעֹל מַעַל בַּיהֹוָה וְאָֽשְׁמָה הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִֽואSpeak to the Israelites: When a man or woman has committed any wrong toward a fellow human being, thus breaking faith with GOD, and they have realized their guilt,
36וְהִתְוַדּוּ אֶֽת־חַטָּאתָם אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ וְהֵשִׁיב אֶת־אֲשָׁמוֹ בְּרֹאשׁוֹ וַחֲמִישִׁתוֹ יֹסֵף עָלָיו וְנָתַן לַאֲשֶׁר אָשַׁם לֽוֹthey shall confess the wrong that they have done. They shall make restitution in the principal amount and add one-fifth to it, giving it to the one who was wronged.
37וְאִם־אֵין לָאִישׁ גֹּאֵל לְהָשִׁיב הָאָשָׁם אֵלָיו הָאָשָׁם הַמּוּשָׁב לַיהֹוָה לַכֹּהֵן מִלְּבַד אֵיל הַכִּפֻּרִים אֲשֶׁר יְכַפֶּר־בּוֹ עָלָֽיוIf that party [is deceased and] has no kin to whom restitution can be made, the amount repaid shall go to GOD for the priest—in addition to the ram of expiation with which expiation is made on their behalf.
38וְכׇל־תְּרוּמָה לְכׇל־קׇדְשֵׁי בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר־יַקְרִיבוּ לַכֹּהֵן לוֹ יִהְיֶֽהSo, too, any gift among the sacred donations that the Israelites offer shall be the priest’s.
39וְאִישׁ אֶת־קֳדָשָׁיו לוֹ יִהְיוּ אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יִתֵּן לַכֹּהֵן לוֹ יִהְיֶֽהAnd each shall retain his sacred donations: each priest shall keep what is given to him.
40וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽרGOD spoke to Moses, saying:
41דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם אִישׁ אִישׁ כִּֽי־תִשְׂטֶה אִשְׁתּוֹ וּמָעֲלָה בוֹ מָֽעַלSpeak to the Israelite people and say to them: Regarding anyone whose wife has gone astray and broken faith with him,
42וְשָׁכַב אִישׁ אֹתָהּ שִׁכְבַת־זֶרַע וְנֶעְלַם מֵעֵינֵי אִישָׁהּ וְנִסְתְּרָה וְהִיא נִטְמָאָה וְעֵד אֵין בָּהּ וְהִוא לֹא נִתְפָּֽשָׂהin that another man has had carnal relations with her unbeknown to her husband, and she has kept secret the fact that she defiled herself without being forced, and there is no witness against her—
43וְעָבַר עָלָיו רֽוּחַ־קִנְאָה וְקִנֵּא אֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹ וְהִוא נִטְמָאָה אוֹ־עָבַר עָלָיו רֽוּחַ־קִנְאָה וְקִנֵּא אֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹ וְהִיא לֹא נִטְמָֽאָהbut a fit of jealousy has come over him and he is wrought up about the wife who has defiled herself; or if a fit of jealousy has come over him and he is wrought up about his wife although she has not defiled herself:
44וְהֵבִיא הָאִישׁ אֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹ אֶל־הַכֹּהֵן וְהֵבִיא אֶת־קׇרְבָּנָהּ עָלֶיהָ עֲשִׂירִת הָאֵיפָה קֶמַח שְׂעֹרִים לֹֽא־יִצֹק עָלָיו שֶׁמֶן וְלֹֽא־יִתֵּן עָלָיו לְבֹנָה כִּֽי־מִנְחַת קְנָאֹת הוּא מִנְחַת זִכָּרוֹן מַזְכֶּרֶת עָוֺֽןThat man shall bring his wife to the priest. And he shall bring as an offering for her one-tenth of an ephah of barley flour. No oil shall be poured upon it and no frankincense shall be laid on it, for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of remembrance that recalls wrongdoing.
45וְהִקְרִיב אֹתָהּ הַכֹּהֵן וְהֶֽעֱמִדָהּ לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָֽהThe priest shall bring her forward and have her stand before GOD.
46וְלָקַח הַכֹּהֵן מַיִם קְדֹשִׁים בִּכְלִי־חָרֶשׂ וּמִן־הֶֽעָפָר אֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה בְּקַרְקַע הַמִּשְׁכָּן יִקַּח הַכֹּהֵן וְנָתַן אֶל־הַמָּֽיִםThe priest shall take sacral water in an earthen vessel and, taking some of the earth that is on the floor of the Tabernacle, the priest shall put it into the water.
47וְהֶעֱמִיד הַכֹּהֵן אֶֽת־הָאִשָּׁה לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה וּפָרַע אֶת־רֹאשׁ הָֽאִשָּׁה וְנָתַן עַל־כַּפֶּיהָ אֵת מִנְחַת הַזִּכָּרוֹן מִנְחַת קְנָאֹת הִוא וּבְיַד הַכֹּהֵן יִהְיוּ מֵי הַמָּרִים הַמְאָֽרְרִֽיםAfter he has made the woman stand before GOD, the priest shall bare the woman’s head and place upon her hands the grain offering of remembrance, which is a grain offering of jealousy. And in the priest’s hands shall be the water of bitterness that induces the spell.
48וְהִשְׁבִּיעַ אֹתָהּ הַכֹּהֵן וְאָמַר אֶל־הָֽאִשָּׁה אִם־לֹא שָׁכַב אִישׁ אֹתָךְ וְאִם־לֹא שָׂטִית טֻמְאָה תַּחַת אִישֵׁךְ הִנָּקִי מִמֵּי הַמָּרִים הַֽמְאָרְרִים הָאֵֽלֶּהThe priest shall adjure the woman, saying to her, “If no one else has lain with you, if you have not gone astray in defilement while in your husband’s household, be immune to harm from this water of bitterness that induces the spell.
49וְאַתְּ כִּי שָׂטִית תַּחַת אִישֵׁךְ וְכִי נִטְמֵאת וַיִּתֵּן אִישׁ בָּךְ אֶת־שְׁכׇבְתּוֹ מִֽבַּלְעֲדֵי אִישֵֽׁךְBut if you have gone astray while committed to your husband and have defiled yourself, if anyone other than your husband has had carnal relations with you”—
50וְהִשְׁבִּיעַ הַכֹּהֵן אֶֽת־הָאִשָּׁה בִּשְׁבֻעַת הָאָלָה וְאָמַר הַכֹּהֵן לָֽאִשָּׁה יִתֵּן יְהֹוָה אוֹתָךְ לְאָלָה וְלִשְׁבֻעָה בְּתוֹךְ עַמֵּךְ בְּתֵת יְהֹוָה אֶת־יְרֵכֵךְ נֹפֶלֶת וְאֶת־בִּטְנֵךְ צָבָֽהhere the priest shall administer the curse of adjuration to the woman, as the priest goes on to say to the woman—“may GOD make you a curse and an imprecation among your people, as GOD causes your thigh to sag and your belly to distend;
51וּבָאוּ הַמַּיִם הַמְאָרְרִים הָאֵלֶּה בְּֽמֵעַיִךְ לַצְבּוֹת בֶּטֶן וְלַנְפִּל יָרֵךְ וְאָמְרָה הָאִשָּׁה אָמֵן אָמֵֽןmay this water that induces the spell enter your body, causing the belly to distend and the thigh to sag.” And the woman shall say, “Amen, amen!”
52וְכָתַב אֶת־הָאָלֹת הָאֵלֶּה הַכֹּהֵן בַּסֵּפֶר וּמָחָה אֶל־מֵי הַמָּרִֽיםThe priest shall put these curses down in writing and rub it off into the water of bitterness.
53וְהִשְׁקָה אֶת־הָאִשָּׁה אֶת־מֵי הַמָּרִים הַמְאָֽרְרִים וּבָאוּ בָהּ הַמַּיִם הַֽמְאָרְרִים לְמָרִֽיםHe is to make the woman drink the water of bitterness that induces the spell, so that the spell-inducing water may enter into her to bring on bitterness.
54וְלָקַח הַכֹּהֵן מִיַּד הָֽאִשָּׁה אֵת מִנְחַת הַקְּנָאֹת וְהֵנִיף אֶת־הַמִּנְחָה לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה וְהִקְרִיב אֹתָהּ אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַThen the priest shall take from the woman’s hand the grain offering of jealousy, elevate the grain offering before GOD, and present it on the altar.
55וְקָמַץ הַכֹּהֵן מִן־הַמִּנְחָה אֶת־אַזְכָּרָתָהּ וְהִקְטִיר הַמִּזְבֵּחָה וְאַחַר יַשְׁקֶה אֶת־הָאִשָּׁה אֶת־הַמָּֽיִםThe priest shall scoop out of the grain offering a token part of it and turn it into smoke on the altar. Last, he shall make the woman drink the water.
56וְהִשְׁקָהּ אֶת־הַמַּיִם וְהָיְתָה אִֽם־נִטְמְאָה וַתִּמְעֹל מַעַל בְּאִישָׁהּ וּבָאוּ בָהּ הַמַּיִם הַמְאָֽרְרִים לְמָרִים וְצָבְתָה בִטְנָהּ וְנָפְלָה יְרֵכָהּ וְהָיְתָה הָאִשָּׁה לְאָלָה בְּקֶרֶב עַמָּֽהּOnce he has made her drink the water—if she has defiled herself by breaking faith with her husband, the spell-inducing water shall enter into her to bring on bitterness, so that her belly shall distend and her thigh shall sag; and the woman shall become a curse among her people.
57וְאִם־לֹא נִטְמְאָה הָֽאִשָּׁה וּטְהֹרָה הִוא וְנִקְּתָה וְנִזְרְעָה זָֽרַעBut if the woman has not defiled herself and is pure, she shall be unharmed and able to retain seed.
58זֹאת תּוֹרַת הַקְּנָאֹת אֲשֶׁר תִּשְׂטֶה אִשָּׁה תַּחַת אִישָׁהּ וְנִטְמָֽאָהThis is the ritual in cases of jealousy, when a woman goes astray while in her husband’s household and defiles herself,
59אוֹ אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲבֹר עָלָיו רוּחַ קִנְאָה וְקִנֵּא אֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹ וְהֶעֱמִיד אֶת־הָֽאִשָּׁה לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה וְעָשָׂה לָהּ הַכֹּהֵן אֵת כׇּל־הַתּוֹרָה הַזֹּֽאתor when a man, overtaken by a fit of jealousy, is wrought up over his wife: the woman shall be made to stand before GOD and the priest shall carry out all this ritual with her.
60וְנִקָּה הָאִישׁ מֵעָוֺן וְהָאִשָּׁה הַהִוא תִּשָּׂא אֶת־עֲוֺנָֽהּThe man shall be clear of guilt; but that woman shall suffer for her guilt.
61וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽרGOD spoke to Moses, saying:
62דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם אִישׁ אֽוֹ־אִשָּׁה כִּי יַפְלִא לִנְדֹּר נֶדֶר נָזִיר לְהַזִּיר לַֽיהֹוָֽהSpeak to the Israelites and say to them: If any man or woman explicitly utters a nazirite’s vow, to set themselves apart for GOD,
63מִיַּיִן וְשֵׁכָר יַזִּיר חֹמֶץ יַיִן וְחֹמֶץ שֵׁכָר לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה וְכׇל־מִשְׁרַת עֲנָבִים לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה וַעֲנָבִים לַחִים וִיבֵשִׁים לֹא יֹאכֵֽלthey shall abstain from wine and any other intoxicant; they shall not drink vinegar of wine or of any other intoxicant, neither shall they drink anything in which grapes have been steeped, nor eat grapes fresh or dried.
64כֹּל יְמֵי נִזְרוֹ מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר יֵעָשֶׂה מִגֶּפֶן הַיַּיִן מֵחַרְצַנִּים וְעַד־זָג לֹא יֹאכֵֽלThroughout their term as nazirite, they may not eat anything that is obtained from the grapevine, even seeds or skin.
65כׇּל־יְמֵי נֶדֶר נִזְרוֹ תַּעַר לֹא־יַעֲבֹר עַל־רֹאשׁוֹ עַד־מְלֹאת הַיָּמִם אֲשֶׁר־יַזִּיר לַיהֹוָה קָדֹשׁ יִהְיֶה גַּדֵּל פֶּרַע שְׂעַר רֹאשֽׁוֹThroughout the term of their vow as nazirite, no razor shall touch their head; it shall remain consecrated until the completion of their term as nazirite of GOD, the hair of their head being left to grow untrimmed.
66כׇּל־יְמֵי הַזִּירוֹ לַיהֹוָה עַל־נֶפֶשׁ מֵת לֹא יָבֹֽאThroughout the term that they have set apart for GOD, they shall not go in where there is a dead person.
67לְאָבִיו וּלְאִמּוֹ לְאָחִיו וּלְאַחֹתוֹ לֹא־יִטַּמָּא לָהֶם בְּמֹתָם כִּי נֵזֶר אֱלֹהָיו עַל־רֹאשֽׁוֹEven if their father or mother, or their brother or sister should die, they must not become defiled for any of them, since hair set apart for their God is upon their head:
68כֹּל יְמֵי נִזְרוֹ קָדֹשׁ הוּא לַֽיהֹוָֽהthroughout their term as nazirite they are consecrated to GOD.
69וְכִֽי־יָמוּת מֵת עָלָיו בְּפֶתַע פִּתְאֹם וְטִמֵּא רֹאשׁ נִזְרוֹ וְגִלַּח רֹאשׁוֹ בְּיוֹם טׇהֳרָתוֹ בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי יְגַלְּחֶֽנּוּIf someone dies suddenly nearby, defiling [a nazirite’s] consecrated hair, they shall shave their head at the time of becoming pure, shaving it on the seventh day.
70וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי יָבִא שְׁתֵּי תֹרִים אוֹ שְׁנֵי בְּנֵי יוֹנָה אֶל־הַכֹּהֵן אֶל־פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדOn the eighth day they shall bring two turtledoves or two pigeons to the priest, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
71וְעָשָׂה הַכֹּהֵן אֶחָד לְחַטָּאת וְאֶחָד לְעֹלָה וְכִפֶּר עָלָיו מֵאֲשֶׁר חָטָא עַל־הַנָּפֶשׁ וְקִדַּשׁ אֶת־רֹאשׁוֹ בַּיּוֹם הַהֽוּאThe priest shall offer one as a purgation offering and the other as a burnt offering, and make expiation on [the nazirite’s] behalf for the guilt incurred through the corpse. That same day their head shall be reconsecrated;
72וְהִזִּיר לַֽיהֹוָה אֶת־יְמֵי נִזְרוֹ וְהֵבִיא כֶּבֶשׂ בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ לְאָשָׁם וְהַיָּמִים הָרִאשֹׁנִים יִפְּלוּ כִּי טָמֵא נִזְרֽוֹand they shall rededicate to GOD their term as nazirite, bringing a lamb in its first year as a penalty offering. The previous period shall be void, since the consecrated hair was defiled.
73וְזֹאת תּוֹרַת הַנָּזִיר בְּיוֹם מְלֹאת יְמֵי נִזְרוֹ יָבִיא אֹתוֹ אֶל־פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽדThis is the ritual for the nazirite: On the day that a term as nazirite is completed, they shall be brought to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
74וְהִקְרִיב אֶת־קׇרְבָּנוֹ לַיהֹוָה כֶּבֶשׂ בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ תָמִים אֶחָד לְעֹלָה וְכַבְשָׂה אַחַת בַּת־שְׁנָתָהּ תְּמִימָה לְחַטָּאת וְאַֽיִל־אֶחָד תָּמִים לִשְׁלָמִֽיםAs an offering to GOD they shall present: one male lamb in its first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering; one ewe lamb in its first year, without blemish, for a purgation offering; one ram without blemish for an offering of well-being;
75וְסַל מַצּוֹת סֹלֶת חַלֹּת בְּלוּלֹת בַּשֶּׁמֶן וּרְקִיקֵי מַצּוֹת מְשֻׁחִים בַּשָּׁמֶן וּמִנְחָתָם וְנִסְכֵּיהֶֽםa basket of unleavened cakes of choice flour with oil mixed in, and unleavened wafers spread with oil; and the proper grain offerings and libations.
76וְהִקְרִיב הַכֹּהֵן לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה וְעָשָׂה אֶת־חַטָּאתוֹ וְאֶת־עֹלָתֽוֹThe priest shall present these before GOD and offer the purgation offering and the burnt offering.
77וְאֶת־הָאַיִל יַעֲשֶׂה זֶבַח שְׁלָמִים לַֽיהֹוָה עַל סַל הַמַּצּוֹת וְעָשָׂה הַכֹּהֵן אֶת־מִנְחָתוֹ וְאֶת־נִסְכּֽוֹHe shall offer the ram as a sacrifice of well-being to GOD, together with the basket of unleavened cakes; the priest shall also offer the grain offerings and the libations.
78וְגִלַּח הַנָּזִיר פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד אֶת־רֹאשׁ נִזְרוֹ וְלָקַח אֶת־שְׂעַר רֹאשׁ נִזְרוֹ וְנָתַן עַל־הָאֵשׁ אֲשֶׁר־תַּחַת זֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִֽיםThe nazirite shall then shave their consecrated hair, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and take those locks of consecrated hair and put them on the fire that is under the sacrifice of well-being.
79וְלָקַח הַכֹּהֵן אֶת־הַזְּרֹעַ בְּשֵׁלָה מִן־הָאַיִל וְֽחַלַּת מַצָּה אַחַת מִן־הַסַּל וּרְקִיק מַצָּה אֶחָד וְנָתַן עַל־כַּפֵּי הַנָּזִיר אַחַר הִֽתְגַּלְּחוֹ אֶת־נִזְרֽוֹThe priest shall take the shoulder of the ram when it has been boiled, one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and place them on the hands of the nazirite after the consecrated hair has been shaved.
80וְהֵנִיף אוֹתָם הַכֹּהֵן תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה קֹדֶשׁ הוּא לַכֹּהֵן עַל חֲזֵה הַתְּנוּפָה וְעַל שׁוֹק הַתְּרוּמָה וְאַחַר יִשְׁתֶּה הַנָּזִיר יָֽיִןThe priest shall elevate them as an elevation offering before GOD; and this shall be a sacred donation for the priest, in addition to the breast of the elevation offering and the thigh of gift offering. After that the nazirite may drink wine.
81זֹאת תּוֹרַת הַנָּזִיר אֲשֶׁר יִדֹּר קׇרְבָּנוֹ לַֽיהֹוָה עַל־נִזְרוֹ מִלְּבַד אֲשֶׁר־תַּשִּׂיג יָדוֹ כְּפִי נִדְרוֹ אֲשֶׁר יִדֹּר כֵּן יַעֲשֶׂה עַל תּוֹרַת נִזְרֽוֹSuch is the obligation of a nazirite; except that those who vow an offering to GOD of what they can afford, beyond their nazirite requirements, must do exactly according to the vow that they have made beyond their obligation as nazirites.
82וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽרGOD spoke to Moses:
83דַּבֵּר אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹן וְאֶל־בָּנָיו לֵאמֹר כֹּה תְבָרְכוּ אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אָמוֹר לָהֶֽםSpeak to Aaron and his sons: Thus shall you bless the people of Israel. Say to them:
84יְבָרֶכְךָ יְהֹוָה וְיִשְׁמְרֶֽךָGOD bless you and protect you!
85יָאֵר יְהֹוָה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ וִֽיחֻנֶּֽךָּGOD deal kindly and graciously with you!
86יִשָּׂא יְהֹוָה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ וְיָשֵׂם לְךָ שָׁלֽוֹםGOD bestow favor upon you and grant you peace!
87וְשָׂמוּ אֶת־שְׁמִי עַל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַאֲנִי אֲבָרְכֵֽםThus they shall link My name with the people of Israel, and I will bless them.
88וַיְהִי בְּיוֹם כַּלּוֹת מֹשֶׁה לְהָקִים אֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּן וַיִּמְשַׁח אֹתוֹ וַיְקַדֵּשׁ אֹתוֹ וְאֶת־כׇּל־כֵּלָיו וְאֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וְאֶת־כׇּל־כֵּלָיו וַיִּמְשָׁחֵם וַיְקַדֵּשׁ אֹתָֽםOn the day that Moses finished setting up the Tabernacle, he anointed and consecrated it and all its furnishings, as well as the altar and its utensils. When he had anointed and consecrated them,
89וַיַּקְרִיבוּ נְשִׂיאֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל רָאשֵׁי בֵּית אֲבֹתָם הֵם נְשִׂיאֵי הַמַּטֹּת הֵם הָעֹמְדִים עַל־הַפְּקֻדִֽיםthe chieftains of Israel, the heads of ancestral houses, namely, the chieftains of the tribes, those who were in charge of enrollment, drew near
90וַיָּבִיאוּ אֶת־קׇרְבָּנָם לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה שֵׁשׁ־עֶגְלֹת צָב וּשְׁנֵי עָשָׂר בָּקָר עֲגָלָה עַל־שְׁנֵי הַנְּשִׂאִים וְשׁוֹר לְאֶחָד וַיַּקְרִיבוּ אוֹתָם לִפְנֵי הַמִּשְׁכָּֽןand brought their offering before GOD: six draught carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two chieftains and an ox for each one. When they had brought them before the Tabernacle,
91וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽרGOD said to Moses:
92קַח מֵֽאִתָּם וְהָיוּ לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדַת אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָם אֶל־הַלְוִיִּם אִישׁ כְּפִי עֲבֹדָתֽוֹAccept these from them for use in the service of the Tent of Meeting, and give them to the Levites according to their respective services.
93וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה אֶת־הָעֲגָלֹת וְאֶת־הַבָּקָר וַיִּתֵּן אוֹתָם אֶל־הַלְוִיִּֽםMoses took the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites.
94אֵת שְׁתֵּי הָעֲגָלוֹת וְאֵת אַרְבַּעַת הַבָּקָר נָתַן לִבְנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן כְּפִי עֲבֹדָתָֽםTwo carts and four oxen he gave to the Gershonites, as required for their service,
95וְאֵת אַרְבַּע הָעֲגָלֹת וְאֵת שְׁמֹנַת הַבָּקָר נָתַן לִבְנֵי מְרָרִי כְּפִי עֲבֹדָתָם בְּיַד אִֽיתָמָר בֶּֽן־אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵֽןand four carts and eight oxen he gave to the Merarites, as required for their service—under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
96וְלִבְנֵי קְהָת לֹא נָתָן כִּֽי־עֲבֹדַת הַקֹּדֶשׁ עֲלֵהֶם בַּכָּתֵף יִשָּֽׂאוּBut to the Kohathites he did not give any; since theirs was the service of the [most] sacred objects, their porterage was by shoulder.
97וַיַּקְרִיבוּ הַנְּשִׂאִים אֵת חֲנֻכַּת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ בְּיוֹם הִמָּשַׁח אֹתוֹ וַיַּקְרִיבוּ הַנְּשִׂיאִם אֶת־קׇרְבָּנָם לִפְנֵי הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַThe chieftains also brought the dedication offering for the altar upon its being anointed. As the chieftains were presenting their offerings before the altar,
98וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה נָשִׂיא אֶחָד לַיּוֹם נָשִׂיא אֶחָד לַיּוֹם יַקְרִיבוּ אֶת־קׇרְבָּנָם לַחֲנֻכַּת הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַGOD said to Moses: Let them present their offerings for the dedication of the altar, one chieftain each day.
99וַיְהִי הַמַּקְרִיב בַּיּוֹם הָרִאשׁוֹן אֶת־קׇרְבָּנוֹ נַחְשׁוֹן בֶּן־עַמִּינָדָב לְמַטֵּה יְהוּדָֽהThe one who presented his offering on the first day was Nahshon son of Amminadab of the tribe of Judah.
100וְקׇרְבָּנוֹ קַֽעֲרַת־כֶּסֶף אַחַת שְׁלֹשִׁים וּמֵאָה מִשְׁקָלָהּ מִזְרָק אֶחָד כֶּסֶף שִׁבְעִים שֶׁקֶל בְּשֶׁקֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ שְׁנֵיהֶם מְלֵאִים סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשֶּׁמֶן לְמִנְחָֽהHis offering: one silver bowl weighing 130 shekels and one silver basin of 70 shekels by the sanctuary weight, both filled with choice flour with oil mixed in, for a grain offering;
101כַּף אַחַת עֲשָׂרָה זָהָב מְלֵאָה קְטֹֽרֶתone gold ladle of 10 shekels, filled with incense;
102פַּר אֶחָד בֶּן־בָּקָר אַיִל אֶחָד כֶּֽבֶשׂ־אֶחָד בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ לְעֹלָֽהone bull of the herd, one ram, and one lamb in its first year, for a burnt offering;
103שְׂעִיר־עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּֽאתone goat for a purgation offering;
104וּלְזֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים בָּקָר שְׁנַיִם אֵילִם חֲמִשָּׁה עַתּוּדִים חֲמִשָּׁה כְּבָשִׂים בְּנֵֽי־שָׁנָה חֲמִשָּׁה זֶה קׇרְבַּן נַחְשׁוֹן בֶּן־עַמִּינָדָֽבand for his sacrifice of well-being: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five yearling lambs. That was the offering of Nahshon son of Amminadab.
105בַּיּוֹם הַשֵּׁנִי הִקְרִיב נְתַנְאֵל בֶּן־צוּעָר נְשִׂיא יִשָּׂשכָֽרOn the second day, Nethanel son of Zuar, chieftain of Issachar, made his offering.
106הִקְרִב אֶת־קׇרְבָּנוֹ קַֽעֲרַת־כֶּסֶף אַחַת שְׁלֹשִׁים וּמֵאָה מִשְׁקָלָהּ מִזְרָק אֶחָד כֶּסֶף שִׁבְעִים שֶׁקֶל בְּשֶׁקֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ שְׁנֵיהֶם מְלֵאִים סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשֶּׁמֶן לְמִנְחָֽהHe presented as his offering: one silver bowl weighing 130 shekels and one silver basin of 70 shekels by the sanctuary weight, both filled with choice flour with oil mixed in, for a grain offering;
107כַּף אַחַת עֲשָׂרָה זָהָב מְלֵאָה קְטֹֽרֶתone gold ladle of 10 shekels, filled with incense;
108פַּר אֶחָד בֶּן־בָּקָר אַיִל אֶחָד כֶּֽבֶשׂ־אֶחָד בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ לְעֹלָֽהone bull of the herd, one ram, and one lamb in its first year, for a burnt offering;
109שְׂעִיר־עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּֽאתone goat for a purgation offering;
110וּלְזֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים בָּקָר שְׁנַיִם אֵילִם חֲמִשָּׁה עַתֻּדִים חֲמִשָּׁה כְּבָשִׂים בְּנֵי־שָׁנָה חֲמִשָּׁה זֶה קׇרְבַּן נְתַנְאֵל בֶּן־צוּעָֽרand for his sacrifice of well-being: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five yearling lambs. That was the offering of Nethanel son of Zuar.
111בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי נָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי זְבוּלֻן אֱלִיאָב בֶּן־חֵלֹֽןOn the third day, it was the chieftain of the Zebulunites, Eliab son of Helon.
112קׇרְבָּנוֹ קַֽעֲרַת־כֶּסֶף אַחַת שְׁלֹשִׁים וּמֵאָה מִשְׁקָלָהּ מִזְרָק אֶחָד כֶּסֶף שִׁבְעִים שֶׁקֶל בְּשֶׁקֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ שְׁנֵיהֶם מְלֵאִים סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשֶּׁמֶן לְמִנְחָֽהHis offering: one silver bowl weighing 130 shekels and one silver basin of 70 shekels by the sanctuary weight, both filled with choice flour with oil mixed in, for a grain offering;

115שְׂעִיר־עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּֽאתone goat for a purgation offering;
116וּלְזֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים בָּקָר שְׁנַיִם אֵילִם חֲמִשָּׁה עַתֻּדִים חֲמִשָּׁה כְּבָשִׂים בְּנֵי־שָׁנָה חֲמִשָּׁה זֶה קׇרְבַּן אֱלִיאָב בֶּן־חֵלֹֽןand for his sacrifice of well-being: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five yearling lambs. That was the offering of Eliab son of Helon.
117בַּיּוֹם הָרְבִיעִי נָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן אֱלִיצוּר בֶּן־שְׁדֵיאֽוּרOn the fourth day, it was the chieftain of the Reubenites, Elizur son of Shedeur.
118קׇרְבָּנוֹ קַֽעֲרַת־כֶּסֶף אַחַת שְׁלֹשִׁים וּמֵאָה מִשְׁקָלָהּ מִזְרָק אֶחָד כֶּסֶף שִׁבְעִים שֶׁקֶל בְּשֶׁקֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ שְׁנֵיהֶם מְלֵאִים סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשֶּׁמֶן לְמִנְחָֽהHis offering: one silver bowl weighing 130 shekels and one silver basin of 70 shekels by the sanctuary weight, both filled with choice flour with oil mixed in, for a grain offering;
119כַּף אַחַת עֲשָׂרָה זָהָב מְלֵאָה קְטֹֽרֶתone gold ladle of 10 shekels, filled with incense;
120פַּר אֶחָד בֶּן־בָּקָר אַיִל אֶחָד כֶּֽבֶשׂ־אֶחָד בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ לְעֹלָֽהone bull of the herd, one ram, and one lamb in its first year, for a burnt offering;
121שְׂעִיר־עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּֽאתone goat for a purgation offering;
122וּלְזֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים בָּקָר שְׁנַיִם אֵילִם חֲמִשָּׁה עַתֻּדִים חֲמִשָּׁה כְּבָשִׂים בְּנֵֽי־שָׁנָה חֲמִשָּׁה זֶה קׇרְבַּן אֱלִיצוּר בֶּן־שְׁדֵיאֽוּרand for his sacrifice of well-being: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five yearling lambs. That was the offering of Elizur son of Shedeur.
123בַּיּוֹם הַחֲמִישִׁי נָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן שְׁלֻֽמִיאֵל בֶּן־צוּרִֽישַׁדָּֽיOn the fifth day, it was the chieftain of the Simeonites, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
124קׇרְבָּנוֹ קַֽעֲרַת־כֶּסֶף אַחַת שְׁלֹשִׁים וּמֵאָה מִשְׁקָלָהּ מִזְרָק אֶחָד כֶּסֶף שִׁבְעִים שֶׁקֶל בְּשֶׁקֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ שְׁנֵיהֶם מְלֵאִים סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשֶּׁמֶן לְמִנְחָֽהHis offering: one silver bowl weighing 130 shekels and one silver basin of 70 shekels by the sanctuary weight, both filled with choice flour with oil mixed in, for a grain offering;
125כַּף אַחַת עֲשָׂרָה זָהָב מְלֵאָה קְטֹֽרֶתone gold ladle of 10 shekels, filled with incense;
126פַּר אֶחָד בֶּן־בָּקָר אַיִל אֶחָד כֶּֽבֶשׂ־אֶחָד בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ לְעֹלָֽהone bull of the herd, one ram, and one lamb in its first year, for a burnt offering;
127שְׂעִיר־עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּֽאתone goat for a purgation offering;
128וּלְזֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים בָּקָר שְׁנַיִם אֵילִם חֲמִשָּׁה עַתֻּדִים חֲמִשָּׁה כְּבָשִׂים בְּנֵי־שָׁנָה חֲמִשָּׁה זֶה קׇרְבַּן שְׁלֻמִיאֵל בֶּן־צוּרִֽישַׁדָּֽיand for his sacrifice of well-being: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five yearling lambs. That was the offering of Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
129בַּיּוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי נָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי גָד אֶלְיָסָף בֶּן־דְּעוּאֵֽלOn the sixth day, it was the chieftain of the Gadites, Eliasaph son of Deuel.

That was the dedication offering for the altar after its anointing.
176וּבְבֹא מֹשֶׁה אֶל־אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד לְדַבֵּר אִתּוֹ וַיִּשְׁמַע אֶת־הַקּוֹל מִדַּבֵּר אֵלָיו מֵעַל הַכַּפֹּרֶת אֲשֶׁר עַל־אֲרֹן הָעֵדֻת מִבֵּין שְׁנֵי הַכְּרֻבִים וַיְדַבֵּר אֵלָֽיוWhen Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with [God], he would hear the Voice addressing him from above the cover that was on top of the Ark of the Pact between the two cherubim; thus [God] spoke to him.
